I should mention that I want a website, but not an online website, just one for my own personal use.

These sites, geocities, etc all seem to require some sort of fee, a no-no for us cheap people who refuse to pay a fee...noway

Frontpage Express is excellent. You need no html knowledge and it is super simple. You can also save the html files on your desktop without publishing them to the web.

Basically, the reason I want a non-online webpage is so that I can flesh out some of my creative ideas without risk. I would rather not expose them to the net and run the risk of others stealing or plaguarizing them for personal profit.

You do realize the key thing that makes something a "website" is the "web" right. HTML isn't really hard at all. They have free sites that tell you how to do any command you need to. Then all you have to do is use note pad and boom your done.

Well, mine will be a site without the "web" then.

Meh, it depends whether I ever get the motivation...and it'd help if I had a scanning device to put my art on my computer.

Again, the sole purpose of said site is strictly to flesh out artistic ideas, not to expose those ideas for the world to see (and perhaps steal). Maybe I seem paranoid, but I'm not, I'm just protective of my intellectual property.

You do know there are laws about people stealing your artwork from online. I know because my friend is an art student and he was talking to me about a bill that people wanted to pass that after so long your art wasnt yours anymore.

I am trying to start my own adult webite but am running into every problem in the book. I am not looking for someone to design it for me, I just need a few pointers. I am not sure about HTML and how to use it but if you can help me for free, I'm willing to learn.

Blaze1978,
Just get to surfing make you a basic Website, and play with it, get a feel for it, take it from their.

ALSO:
I had some problem a while back with "HTML & BB Codes" with a couple of PokerForums I've been toying with,
heres one:
http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com/

Here's a very simple converter:
http://javascript.about.com/library/blscr01.htm

her's a decent Generate: http://www.hypergurl.com/generators/htmlgenerator.html

Just Goggle: learn HTML code for free. For starters, it's not as hard as it seems, their are also people that will will help you online just goggle and use help forums if needed, plenty of free stuff out their to experiment with and on!, as Website, Forums and Blogs.
