My question is what does checking the box that asks "Show testimonials when being viewed" mean?? I don't know if I should check it or not, because I don't know what it refers to!

It is fine to check it if you want people to beable to write and read testimonials.

A testimonial is when when someone on your friends list writes a comment about you, by checking the box it allows people who view your profile to see it.
