Today I got a bag full of hot peppers, purple bell peppers, and japanese eggplant for 3 dollars.

I was out of my spicy, coarse ground, brown mustard. So I picked up a bottle of the garlic version of the same mustard. It is also on the spicy side.

I bought a tub of salsa for about the same price as in the store. But where the store salsa lasts me a month, this will only last me a week. It is just so much better. They make their salsa's for market the night before. It is the ultimate in wonderful, fresh salsa.

I also picked up spanicopeta (sp) for lunch and some cottage bacon for cooking.

Cottage bacon is a slightly thicker bacon cut from an area with way more meet and only a very small amount of fat. It makes great sandwiches but you can't find it in the stores.

Everyone should really take advantage of the fresh produce straight from the farm when they can.

There is NO comparison.

I live two blocks from it. So I hit it every Saturday after payday.

The only thing I miss is the fruit. There is very little fruit at any of the farmers markets around this area.

Back home I bought mostly fruit. But I was on the border with Spokane then.

I like the Farmer's Market. I wish it was closer to me.

I grew my own garden this year.

they have several of them here.. but they seem to be expensive, a friend of mine was telling me that her mom was going to buy strawberries and they wanted $30 for it and she of course didnt buy them it was to much so she went to a fruitstand that she usually goes to and got a better deal...

We have several Saturday Markets close by to where I live and they are so fun to go to and see what craftsmen and farmers have to sell. We also have one every Thursay on Third Street in "downtown" McMinnville. The last one I went to was in Salem and I bought some homemade soap and flowers (sunflowers) oh and a tie-dyed skirt, not to much to offer in produce at that time since it was early June. But I really enjoy going to them and just walking through, nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon if I don't have any thing else planned. We also have farmers that have their own produce stands, where at some you can pick your own green beans, tomatoes or just buy from the stand, those are lots of fun also.

That is shocking. Most places, you get better prices for fresh produce. That is some serious price gouging.
