Amelia Bedelia moment here for me. You said they are/were friends. Are we actually talking "prospects", more so than friends. I think Slow's got it - you're not as confused as you think. Walk away from your poem and then try to read it as if someone else wrote it. What would you tell that someone else that they said, but are not noticing?

Well for now, I'm sticking with the one I like and am with now. Certainly not going to be without it's challenges, but want to make it work if at all possible.
