Reuters reports:
WASHINGTON, Sept 24 (Reuters) - Democratic Rep. Barney Frank said on Wednesday Democrats had reached an agreement to stem one of the worst U.S. financial disasters in decades, and that there would be enough votes to pass the measure and send it to President George W. Bush to sign into law. But take it with a grain of salt. Rumors are flying. Democrats are rolling over, but there is apparently resistance from the House Republicans still. |

that money needs to go to the people anyhow, not a bunch of bankrupt crooks. lol If my math is right that money is not needed. Just trim some pork and a few earmarks and... would you believe it ya get a trillion dollors or so. Even if they manage to agree on what to trim they should still not give it to one man with no review, oversight, or scruples. |

At appox. 1pm it looked like there was an agreement. Not so much now. That news came out after the markets closed so no reaction from them yet.
I am pretty sure this is all posturing for political reasons. Don't worry, be happy and bend over and grab your ankles. We are taking it, hard and unpleasant, no matter what either party tells us, in the end. |

Hey, it's the GOP who is putting the brakes on this thing, which is the most important thing we could do. You understand that this means Bush's own party is against his bailout plan. Too bad they didn't do this when the Patriot act came up...
