If so what is the degree of actual damage? Also do you know of anyone who will need help with there home?

Im in San Antonio- but I think the damage is very extensive. People are just now being allowed back on the island to collect whatever they can.

Yeah I know but I ws thinkin there might be someone in the actual area that could give more exact info. After Katrina I learned to get all the info can before going down. Clear Lake here...lot of damage...Galveston as we use to know, is not there no more. We still have a curfew is in effect indefinately. restaurants & night clubs loosing big time. Buildings in downtown damaged. Mine lost 400 windows......
Galveston was opened to people to come and see their property, if there is any standing, and leave by 6 PM....

I remember the snse of despair in the Biloxi area after Katrina....a year after the storm people were still living in tents
