Why is our local tread so damn boring!!! How does this make us look? We should be able to converse with each other. Or has our road rage made us unable to communicate once we get to our destinations .

Is our city that bad that we don't even want to talk to each other . Well I'm going to keep trying until I get some response from my fellow neighbors near and far.

We have many Chicago-area people on the site, but very few actually participate at all. Makes you wonder why they bothered to sign up.

For me, I have found that real life -- meeting people through friends -- is the only thing that actually works. I have met 9 people from dating sites (no one from this site), and 8 of them were absolute catastrophes. I doubt if I would ever trust anyone from a dating site again.

Since I don't drink and don't go to bars, I have found that my friends are the best source of new prospects....

Lately, I'm having a hard time getting them to set ME up! It's the old story -- my formerly single friends from 10 years ago are now all old married people with kids and all that miserable stuff. So all their "available" friends are alcoholic divorced women with 7 kids and a part-time job at the nail salon. It's like Jerry Springer is in your back yard waiting to pounce....

I'll tell you the worst part -- there's a girl who works at a store near me, I have a tremendous crush on her....and one of my friends owns a business in the same town, and told me that this same girl came to her store a couple years ago and applied for a job there -- so my friend has all kinds of information about her, and refuses to tell me anything....some friends I got....!!

Hey Montel, I'm looking for some people to hang out with. Do some social stuff around the city. I'm like you, I need a change in the scenery and meeting new people will broaden my horizons . Same people doing the same things, starts getting a little boring after awhile .

Do you think he's doing that because of legal reasons? If so I can understand that. Or does he feel if he were the one feeling out an application would he want them discussing personal info with someone who has a crush. It's just a big old web you could get caught in. Well, the friend is a girl I used to go out with a long long time ago. She's married and has 2 kids now, and she and her husband own a video store. Several of her other friends have told me that she still has a thing for me and that's why she doesn't want to see me with anybody else. The last girl I was involved with, I took to her house one night so they could meet, and that was a bit of a disaster. So the "official" word is that she is not about to provide me with anything that might help me get to know the other girl -- but of course, she denies it.
