Are you familiar with Marcus Luttrell?

That's who I thought of when you said Texan first or "Texican"....

You know it's funny. Get a group of people together and I have to say it's usually easy to pick out the Texans.

They are a prideful and sensitive bunch I think.

I am a gamer and I used to have great fun getting the Texans going with silly statements like. Please sign my petition to return Texas to Mexico where it belongs! The Texans would go crazy! haha

My favorite Texan? Molly Ivins! Rest her soul.

I'd say George Bush was my least favorite but he was born in New Haven, Connecticut.

Another thing I find interesting is the Irish.

The Irish or the part Irish seem to all feel drawn back to Ireland in an odd sort of other worldly way. I have second cousins still there who think it's silly the way American-Irish romanticize the old country sometimes. I have never been although my grandmother went back often. Perhaps someday.

never ask a person if he is from Texas

if he is he will always eventually tell you

if he is not you don't want to embarrass him

*sidenote, yanno there are more people in America who claim to be Irish than there are in Ireland? weirdos aren't we

Not quite sure why you think someone expects you to apologize?
i am assuming it has something to do with the elections and what effect race has in who we vote for.

wow WOW!!

where did all that come from

you do realize that you are carrying on an argument all by your self don't you?

Lynann's photo

Yeah seriously where did that come from?

quiet_2008 and I don't agree much but he isn't one to call names and bait others. I respect that and am always happy to read his comments.

He corrected your misspelling. Big deal!

I have often posted on the issue of writing a readable post. Here we go again.

When you write it is a reflection on the you and the respect or lack of it for the reader. Strict grammatical rules shouldn't be enforced in forums, English is after all an evolving language and the way it is used on the net has brought rapid changes in what is acceptable, still it's not out of line to ask that posters avail themselves of spell check (a handy tool included on these forums) and use some structure in their posts.

Please, who ever you are. Show some respect for the reader. Write readable posts. Spell check, capital letters, sentences, punctuation and even paragraphs are your friends!!

Lastly,I don't care for people who deliberately attempt to churn up hatred and discontent, who call names, who insult others just to try and get a reaction or who put words in another persons mouth. I don't care what color they are, what country they come from, what party they belong to, what sex they are....it's wrong.

my number one rule, everyone from BoM has heard me say this repeatedly

DON'T ARGUE WITH THE FURNITURE

which is another way of saying "don't feed the trolls"

well I wasn't gonna pursue that. but traditionally it takes a PhD to call your self a scientist. us lesser mortals are just assistants, technicians, and labrats
