Tylenol PM works wonders it has the same ingredient as benedryl... which of course I can't spell but it doesn't do much for me. The only thing I found that really works is Trazadone... which of course you need to see your doctor to get. But it does stop your mind from racing for hours and you just go to sleep.

I have a problem when I lay down, my mind runs and runs like I have to think about everything that has every occured to me in my life and I must fix it now oh it drives me crazy. It can take me sooo long to fall asleep sometimes.
I lay in bed two to four hours before I fall asleep and like you I think to much lol

it's called having a ridiculously LARGE conscience
where you have to think about EVERYTHING and try and fix it all before you can go to sleep.

I've had 3 glasses of rum and coke... and a muscle relaxer... and yet I'm still here and not even remotely sleepy. Yep... I have insomnia

Melatonin is a very good suggestion, as stated above.
Valerian Root is a good alternative as well. Not to mention, getting OFF the computer and actually laying down to rest can work wonders also.

It's sooo incledibly boring and frustrating laying in bed in the dark and not going to sleep
