The righties loved the way John McCain's Annie Oakley corrected Joe Biden at the VP debate. You betcha. Yeah, drillin' along all our coastlines can be done safely... Here's what the Gov. said:

"The chant is "drill, baby, drill..."

"Barack Obama and Senator Biden, you've said no to everything in trying to find a domestic solution to the energy crisis that we're in. You even called drilling -- safe, environmentally-friendly drilling offshore as raping the outer continental shelf."

Here's what happened to the "safe, environmentally-friendly drilling offshore" when Hurricane Ike hit:

"At least a half million gallons of crude oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico and the marshes, bayous and bays of Louisiana and Texas, according to an analysis of federal data by The Associated Press."

The "Drill Baby, Drill" crowd is kinda quiet on this one. Yeah, nobody wants a 500K gallon oil slick on their beach, not even the hater righties in Jersey.

Please they just changed the Middle School Science Standards in Arizona, along with the Social Studies Standards. Don't ask them to do it again. Science just got new textbooks and the Social Studies Department is suppose to adopt a new one for next year.

Part of the problem is new oil can be sold at a higher price then old oil (that which has been found). We have a number of "capped" oil wells, because of this pricing difference.

Not at all. I'm sure we can supply our 25% of the world's consumption with 3% of its reserves... I do think we need to tap our oil and natural gas, but Simple Sarah made it all sound so... simple. It isn't.

well, by all means, let's just give up without a fight and not try, huh?

sounds like liberal talking points coming out of obama.

there is just this annoying little gap between what is and what will be.

this isn't Camelot and obama is not Kennedy, not that such romantic notions have ever enjoyed any real traction, though.

Do you dispute the numbers on consumption and reserves?

no

I don't.

the oil is not going to last much longer anyway.

the Saudis are peaked and are producing less too.

this is no joke.

this is it.

we have a very short time to adapt or we will be ground to a halt sooner than people want to believe.

time to wake up to that.

Wrong. The Liberal/Progressive view is to use more renewable and alternative forms of energy. If expanding the knowledge of possible safe and renewable energy is the definition of giving up...respectfully suggest a revision of your definition.

better hurry up then.

in the meantime, drill baby drill.

or only the military will have oil.

don't be so smug.

this is a crisis.

and political games are not going to accomplish any more than what has already been done to stem the tide.

What has been ddone?

NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!

drill now.

and get to work on the alternatives now.

you know nothing.
