If someone that you consider a friend did something that deeply offended you, would you go after them with revenge, or let karma handle it.

Neither. Revenge is ultimately self-destructive and karma doesn't exist except as a man-made delusion.

I respectfully disagree with your theory.
I'm a spiritual person and believe deeply in the powers of the Universe.
If you upset the balance of the universe, justice will be serviced...one way or another.

" In certain...extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law. To pursue... natural justice. This is not vengeance. Revenge is not a valid motive, it's an emotional response. No. Not vengeance. This, is punishment. "
The Punisher

I know a lot of people feel that way.

My position is that if there is a balance of the universe, it requires someone or something, an entity, a force, an intelligence, a will, to do the balancing. And I have yet to see anything to indicate that this is the case. I would really love to be wrong on this one, but life has shown me that looking for anything beyond the sheer randomness of existence is utterly futile.

Maybe a tiny revenge; do me dirty the ultimate price is looseing me as a friend because I treat my friends very well. The rest would be Karm which is not always swift but it is sure sword when it nails the deserving to the wall. Seen it happen too many times over the years. People that think they skate off on something usually get it in spades sooner or later.

I forgive them and let it go. I don't believe in Karma, but I DO believe that if the person's attitude doesn't change, they'll wind up punishing themselves in the end... a fact that makes me sad and even pity them.

If it deeply offended me?

I'd leave them, and let the forces of nature deal with the trash.

I'm sorry that you feel that way !

Maybe I can help clear some things up.

Let's take O.J. Simpson for example.

Some believe he got away with murder, regarding his ex-wife and her friend, other think he was innocent....which ever the case, the thing that brought him into all of that was his lifestyle, mainly the way he treats the people in his life.

After winning the murder trial....he continued to piss in the face of society and act as if he was still a celebrety...and oh well...his arrogance led him down the path to Karma.

It was the power of the universe that made this happen...everyday we make decisions, some that maybe we'd rather not make....but circumstances dictate.
Often times they are the wrong choices, but it's as fate would have it...Karma...!

I know some people think of it as karma.

To me, it's just a stupid man offering further proof of his stupidity.

He screwed himself, in other words. I see no need to bring supernatural forces into the equation.

The supernatural forces are what put him is the position to make the decisions to cause this to happen.
There are thousands of choices he could have made that would have had a different outcome.
Maybe they were'nt availiable to him, or his arrogance caused him to ignor them.

But it was KARMA...that led to this...nothing else.
