When politicians misspeak, it's often a humorous moment. A verbal blunder by Sen. John McCain as he campaigned in Bethlehem, Penn. yesterday left the crowd silent:

McCain said:

"You and I together will confront the $10 trillion debt the federal government has run up and balance the federal budget by the end of my term in office. Across this country, this is the agenda I have set before MY FELLOW PRISONERS and the same standards of clarity and candor must now be applied to my opponent."

I think he meant to say "my fellow Americans" but I am not sure.

Yes he has a verry bad temper you do not want him to take the 3:00 am phone call with his hand near the red button. Here is one of many articles on that. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/04/19/AR2008041902224_pf.html

thanks madison going to ck out link now flowerforyou

personally I am not certain I would trust anyone near the 'red button' like everything else in life 'we' always think 'we' know best and 'we' would do things differently, but no one will ever know as 'we' are not in that position.

madison - just my opinion

I dont think McCain has an extraordinary temper - think his has just been public. Any one who is adamant about something would either react positive or negatively...

for all the pushing and shoving - in my neck of woods thats a (catfight) not a demonstration of temper.

But it was a good read, any others?

If you consider 8 years a long time. Or if you're just simply skipping over the clinton years.

Say what you will about Clinton, but he did operate in the black.

I just thought it was an interesting gaff. Much different than the 57 state gaff. Although we do have only 50 states, we do have US territories like Puerto Rico.

McCains temper is legendary here in Arizona.
