You are given the one chance to sit in the President's Cabinet to discuss major issues with the new President and his advisors. They invited you for they feel that you can resolve a major issue.
If you had that chance in reality what would you discuss that would help improve this nation? |

I would recommend having Judge Alvin 'J.P' Valkenheiser deal with the financial crisis and the bankers.

Revoke the Patriot Act
Require four years of military or community service from every citizen. Abandon the war on low level drugs. Use the prison spaces we have for violent offenders. Equally fund all schools or I should say all students. This will give incentives to teachers and parents to live and teach in rural, suburban and inner city schools equally. Establish tax credits for companies creating and maintaining jobs in the U.S. Put people to work repairing and rebuilding our infrastructure. Establish a national health care system. Those are quick ones off the top of my head. What I would not do. No Constitutional convention. We are to politicized and angry to consider doing this now. The document has stood the test of time it's us that haven't. I would never support removing SCOTUS justices. Life time appointments are there for a reason. Issues shouldn't be decided based on political pressure. Stability in the court is important too. Can you imagine the affect of a constantly changing court? Take the recent affirmation of a citizens right to own guns (simplified) from the D.C. case. New president Kevin doesn't like that decision, asserts political pressure and the majority that decided this issue is removed. The new court strikes down the decision. Now a citizen has no right to own a gun. On and on it goes Some appointed agency heads can be removed without reason at the discretion of the president. Others cannot. Terms vary. Once upon a time when a president had broad powers to basically put whomever they liked in these jobs, from the janitor to the head of an agency, the jobs were rewarded largely to pay off political favors. While that still happens it happens less now. |

1.Term limits on congress.
2.No patriot act. 3.Implement Fair Tax and abolish IRS. 4.Pay all debts to China by suing them for the amount of the debt based on tainted products. 5.Outlaw lobbyists. 6.Require all persons running for office to have PRATICED a trade that is not related to Law or Politics. 7.Abolish 527's and PAC's. 8.Limit campaign funds to a specified amount (say 1 Million or less) with complete online transparency. 9.Provide high quality weapons to anyone living on the border with Mexico. (and give them legal immunity when force is used against illegals crossing their land). 10.Require teachers to pass the same tests we administer to students. (you'd be suprised how many teachers would no longer have a job). |
