OK, as some of you know, I am in school at WTI to get my certifications in computer technology and networking.

Well, I started school August 11, 2008. When I started we(the school and I) didn't know my school loans from prior were about to go into default.

I have been busting my a$$ by myself to get them consolidated since August. The school's financial aid department only told me which website could help me. I did everything else on my own, with no further assistance from the school. I even was in one of the counselor's office using her computer because she didn't know how to do it! So I did it for her.

Anyway, 3 months later, I am starting my A+ certification class and they decide to spring it on me that I need a specific letter from the loan consolidation company in order to continue.

Here's the thing.

For the past 3 months, WTI said nothing, NOTHING, about this letter. Not once did they ask me how the loan consolidation was going and if I heard any word from them. When the company canceled the loan the first time due to incorrect paper work (Direct Loans forgot to send me the paperwork they needed me to sign), I reapplied by myself.

The school has not helped me in the least and now, tonight, the night before my first exam, the night I should be in class studying my review for the exam, I am home because they will not let me go to class until they get that piece of paper.

Had they been keeping in touch with me and communicating with me for the past 3 months, I could have seen the paper and possibly asked DL for it.

Now I have to wait.

I am wasting valuable time.

I NEED THIS.

I sent my daughter to another country so I could do this. (Shut up, I don't want to hear your issues with that, keep them to yourselves people have attacked me enough, calling me a bad mother because I chose to focus on school and work so I can better my daughter's life while she got to rebuild a bond with her father. That is not the issue at this point.)

I am just venting.

You don't need to reply to this post. I just needed to vent to the world and apparently I can not scream over thunder.

I have struggled and busted my a$$ for this school. I have driven on 'E' and not eaten lunch or dinner just so I could put another $5 in my tank so I could get to school. I have dealt with migraines because of the stress. I have put a job on hold so I could focus on the damn Fundamentals of Electronics which literally brought me to tears because of the degree of difficulty.

I am at that point where I feel lost. Lie I just wasted the last 3 months for nothing.

I NEED THIS. My teachers know how much I need this. How much I am pushing myself to my limit for this.

Why can't the school realize this?

I am doing all I can.

The financial department are supposed to be the ones doing this so I can focus my energies on school and learning. What the hell are they there for if I am doing all the work?

*sigh*

Now I am REALLY missing my daughter big time. I am doing all this for her. I don't want to feel like I made a mistake. I just want to be the best mother in the world and have a good job that doesn't require stripping, dancing or flipping burgers.

I can not will her my apartment. I want to leave her something when I pass on.

I want to give her the future no one ever offered me.

I want her to see me in a good light, that you can do it. That you can be whatever you want in life.

But this school is holding me down.

And I am sinking fast.

No offense mikey... prayers aint gonna do any good. I do have spare nail grenades though.

Got hosed over by that same system myself sweety. Took too damned much time and effort for the (Useless) results I personally came out with...But, at least I still get harrassing phone calls about crap I paid off 8 years ago...(Apparently not everyone got the memo)

Hope you have better luck than I did.

Thank you guys for your support.

Due to being Jewish, I missed a few days last 2 months and the school wants me to make it up on my time. As in, between the hours of 12:30 pm and 2 pm. Right. That is when my daughter comes online to talk with me and if I miss her, she gets pissy and doesn't want to talk to me for a few days as my punishment.

I had worked something out with my teacher, then the school said no. I have to make up 6.5 hours by Friday, and I have no idea how to do it.

Hm.

Maybe I will make them taste a bit of the Hasidic Enforcer's enforcements?

I am so getting tired of this.

Problem is, this is THE best school for what I am learning. They have people from Cessna, Boeing, Hawker-Beechcraft, even Microsoft coming to this school to select from the graduates.

My particular teacher's first month teaching here, he had 31 of 31 students receive their certification in A+. He had set a new school record. Since then, 95% of his students pass and get certified.

I want this. No, I WANT AND DESIRE this.

I will figure something out. I always do. I am so not going to quit. If I quit, who is going to hire me?

I got to push through this and show them that through their worst chit, I still rose up and shined with the rest of the group.

I am glad you vented here. Don't worry I have defaulted several times with Direct Loans. Thanks to President Bush you can't claim bankruptcy on student loans. I wonder if you got the same deal I got with KCI. You fill out the paperwork to get the loans and you get the loans alright. You get this nice man who pats you on the back who tells how this college will help you get a job in the career you have chosen. As soon as you sign the papers and get yourself royally in debt up to yours ears. Every so often you can get what they call a deferment which last for six months because you have a job that barely pays your basic living expenses. It is like sign the papers old man and they forget who you are except that you owe them money. As you can tell my deferment is over and now it is $371.00 a month that I have to come up a month for the loan. I could have had the option for them to garnish my paycheck for $480.00 a month but they said my loan would still be in default that way. I doubt that I will live long enough to see the $40,000.00 loan paid off but at least I got an Associates in computer repair and computer networking. I think I will take the degrees out and put them in some nice frames so I can look at them.laugh

Make sure that you get every agreement in writing, that may help for the future. When I was in school the fincial department kept losing my paperwork and since I was dependent student, my mom had to keep filling it out and paying to have it overnight from WA to AZ. I finally walked into the office with the return receipt in my hand and tell them that they had lost my paperwork and that I would not be filling it out for a fourth time. Guess what - they found it.

Be tough, you'll get through it.
