I get this email from a 34 year old female from Cincinnati, Ohio..so she or he says, and they want me to email them at her yahoo account, is there anyway to stop this crap? Seems, like this place is full of scammers and fakes anymore..... Is it just me or does it seem like it has gotten worse since the change from JSH to Mingle? Anybody else been noticing this trend???

Just report the email as inappropriate and block them. Its all you can do for now.

I just had some emails from a 'blue box' tonight. When I suggested he add pictures, he said if I gave him my email, he would send me some. I said I meant on this site and he apologized. He said he couldn't because of a stalker problem.

Seems definitely worse since the switch. Usually, if you tell them that you only e-mail on mingle, they disappear. There's not much else you can do about them.

I've gotten maybe two of those the whole time I've been here. It's a lot worse everywhere else.

Oh, make no mistake about it...It's not just Mingle..there is an upswing of scammers. Time for another bust...I've been popping two or three/day on yahoo.

This is a ring of people, they operate on networked systems. All they have to do, is log off and back on, create a new account..and they're all set.

If any of you, are getting scam emails here, please report the profiles. Just go to the profile and click report abuse.

In late 2005, there was a bust called global 419, It involved The FBI and Spanish authorities, although based in Spain, it was being run by Nigerian gangs, and yes folks..they stop at nothing, including kidnapping and murder. I could google this and be more precise..well any of you can...but the bust netted some 300 networked computers, over a thousand fax machines, and over 1500 cell phones. There were over 20,000 people who fell for this crap, and the money i forget but i think was nearly a half million dollars.

These people do succeed, lets try and stop them, here, and on yahoo...report anyone who even hints at money.

These people think they have a network...we do, Mail all your friends, tell them to google nigeria 419.

Thanks for your time in reading.

Dude...this ain't rocket science....

If someone I don't know is dropping a different e-dress on the only line of the initial conversation, I would be short sighted not to see it.

Penis dude...it easy to see the scammers....just seems like it happens more on this site than it did on JSH. That is what I am saying.

I know that, and i know that most of you all know what to look for, But they didn't get 300 computers and a half million bucks because everyone was well informed. Exposure is key. Take away their market...take away the profit.

I posted my extra laptop up on craig's list and got like 4 nigerian scammers with requests to purchase by paying through paypal and having me ship it to nigeria or other locations in Africa.

You would think that paypal would be the safest thing to get a payment but its not. Right on paypal's website they give tips about not being scammed.

I found it to be 100% worse on another site.

I heard on NPR news that Africa now has a special police force dedicated to busting up the rings of scammers that they have there.

To markecephus (or anyone that may know). Do they usually just target guys? I am talking about the dating site scammers. I am on two dating sites and I don't have a clue what a scammer would look like. I very new at this dating site thing.

I get a lot of mail and 95% of the guys get a nice rejection letter. So I wonder what super duper fantastic message some scammer would send me in hopes of getting a reply.

You'll know them right off the bat!!!!

First....they don't have good English
They can't put a complete thought together and make it coherent online.

Second...they are in some African country temporarily on a job assignment or something.

And they are in a BIG rush to get personal information!!!

You'll know by then!!
