since my liver and kidneys were removed last year

Sam do you mean that you had them removed and had transplanted organs? How do you live with no kidneys and liver? Or do you mean one kidney and a partial liver?

laugh

you did not read down far enough my lady - it was intended to be humor, of couse it would be almost impossible to live without them in reality - at best you'd have to be hooked up to machines for the rest of your life - go back and read further down - it is no more than a spoof. flowerforyou

Oh I see. I didn't detect the sarcasm. I see I wasnt the only person that was fooled though. Yeah you can live with one kidney, but I dont think a partial liver. Your quality of life would be decreased significantly and you would probably have to be on dialysis like 80% of the time. No good. noway

A healthy diet and exercise are the best way to be as healthy as possible. If you have a specific problem like I do then there are some supplements that can help. Even my rheumatologist agrees with me on this. I combine those with my "modern meds". Using diet, exercise, yoga and meditation I do really well.

I think most supplements are just bs. But, then some of the "modern meds" my rheumatologist wanted me to try were bs too. Buyer beware...in the doctor's office and in the vitamin store.

There are many herbs that can be used to "detoxify" your system in the short term. Dandelion, Licorice Root, Cascara Sagrada, Black Walnut Hulls to name a few. You can grind them up and form a paste and then drink this mixture but you must also flush out your system with a lot of water. You can normally find them in pill form also which is not always as effective. If you drink a lot of alcohol or even have hepatitis, then your liver will benefit from Milk Thistle.

Yes, you can pass routine blood tests for drug use by cleansing thoroughly. You wont be beating a hair follicle sample though.

I've never even heard of this "foot pad detoxification" but I can say it sounds like pure bullshi-. Medicinal herbs are actually interacting with the cells and digestive track on a molecular level. Where do you think aspirin comes from?

"The history of botanical remedies for pain is a long one. Ancient Egyptians used leaves from the myrtle bush, Europeans used willow leaves, and the Native peoples of North America made pain remedies from birch bark. All of these plants have been found to contain a chemical called salicylic acid." bigsmile

We have learned a lot by taking effects seriously. When something works use it! (but only after figuring out why it works, and any side effects)
If it shows a higher then average rate of success then its taken seriously.

If its random, then its tossed in the woo pile.

I wish I could study plants and fungus for a living, I really would enjoy trying to discover molecules that nature has engineered and been using for thousands of years.
