Love is like a cabbage

My love is like a cabbage
divided into two
the leaves I give to others
the heart I give to you

Happy Valentine's Day

Love Stays, Feelings Fade

We often don't feel
Love each and every day
Just the same it's there
And will never fade away

Just like the ocean tide
Coming in and going out
At times our love's so strong
Other times is seldom felt

In those times of wondering
When love is placed in doubt
We must only remember
Our love has not run out

God in all His splendour
Knows just how we feel
He knows true love goes deeper
Than our feelings that seem real

So don't be depending
On feelings everyday
Love is always there
But feelings fade away

I've learned... . That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

I've learned.... That when you're in love, it shows.

I've learned.... That just one person saying to me, 'You've made my day!' makes my day.

I've learned.... That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.

I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right.

I've learned.... That you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I've learned.... That I can always pray for someone when I don 't have the strength to help him in some other way.

I've learned.... That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I've learned.... That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.

I've learned.... That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.

I've learned.... That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I've learned.... That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.

I've learned.... That money doesn't buy class.

I've learned... That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

I've learned.... That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I've learned...... That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I 've learned.... That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you..

I've learned.... That love, not time, heals all wounds.

I've learned.... That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.

I've learned... That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.

I've learned.... That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.

I've learned... That life is tough, but I'm tougher.

I've learned..... That opportunities are never lost, someone will take the ones you miss.

I've learned.... That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

I've learned.... That I wish I could have told my Mom that I love her one more time before she passed away.

I've learned.... That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.

I've learned.... That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

I've learned..... That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.

I've learned.... That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.

I've learned.... That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

This is a tough site to be a Christian on, so it's nice to see not everyone on mingle is a God hater. Drugs, alcohol, sex, lying, cheating, hows the verse go.... 9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11AND THAT IS WHAT SOME OF YOU WERE. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. Lord knows that's what i was. But praise the LORD for GRACE !

sorry to hear of your loss lyndeb. God's grace and love is never far from us. It is indeed good to know that we are never truly alone when He is in our life.

I am finding it good just to take the Lord with me wherever I go. From my mom's advice I am trying to remember to pray before I go to work. Then I have my pray as I go prayer where I try to keep the Lord with me so that he can do the rounds with me. Then I have my prayer so the Lord can go home with me so I can sleep better. Then I am trying to have my wake up prayer so my day starts out right. Then there is my prayer so that I don't cop an attitude when my Lord is trying to help me through others. Then there is prayer that I don't become indifferent to people just because they have human emotions and feelings. The Lord is really helping with it because he was a person at one time, too. It is nice to know that the Lord can relate with my problems.

http://www.mychurch.org/blog/215724/Ephesians-426-Be-angry-but-do-not-sin

We have a man with prostrate cancer at the home. We have to do an every hour check. I had to remember how I felt when my wife died and the grief I suffered to be able to understand his wife. This death watch we have to do is hard on everybody but it must be hardest on the wife. He is on comfort care which means he is allowed oxygen and painkillers. We have 32 residents on our floor and as usual we are shorthanded on the graveyard shift. He is in such pain that barely touching him hurts him but the wife wants him turned every hour. I feel part of her anger is because of her own recognition that she doesn't want to part with him. It reminds me of animal who has gotten ran over and that will bite anyone that tries to help it. I am praying that God will help her as I pray for him. We are all trying to be as gentle as possible with him. I am thankful that I work with another man who can be as gentle as I can be but understands that we have to do our job. The resident is getting where he can't suck water through a straw any more and we have to force fluids but we aren't allowed a food syringe. Some wonder why he is here instead of hospice. Thanks for listening.

Our Heavenly Father knows why Rainbow.
I pray that the Lord will guide you in ways you might be able
to minister to your patient's wife.

It is difficult to see a person at that stage of any illness, I think knowing who the person was in their younger days and photos of the person in their youth help one to see them as more than just a sick person but the individual as a whole. We have to learn to see past the pain and see how God uses these things for His glory.

I do pray that his wife will receive help to get her through this. I don't doubt there is anger and difficulty letting go.

I shall take a look at that page at mychurch.org

There is a reason.

The one that we thought we would lose lasted the night but one we didn't suspect of going passed. I am glad the Lord took her home with him because of the way she kept chewing her tongue. We tried to keep the blood off her mouth and comfort her until the end.

Hello everyone! :) I would like to say that I've not been on this website long..but I am so glad to have come across this forum.

Thank you so much Britty for starting this..as it's a true blessing for many. You must be a true child of God. Thank you also those who contribute regularly as this too, so blesses others.

I am trying to very progressively start attempting to date..but want to do it in a manner that is pleasing to God. I very sceptical as to how it can at all be done on this website (or indeed, anywhere in this day and age)?! If I don't find any form of succesful dating on this site..I will still be very grateful to the fact that there are true brothers and sisters on here and also for the fact that, this site allows us to encourage one another!

May God bless, protect and encourage each one of you in your lives.x x
