Once and Now

Once I saw the future taken away,
Lost to my dreams again.
Cried my tears in rivers so deep,
Made a promise to pray for me.

I never knew what dreams would come,
Through this journey in life I take.
I stand beside myself in thought,
And recollect the dreams I've made.

Saw the future ebbing back to me
Thought I'd lost it in obscurity.
Insanity found it's hiding place,
Felt the warmth of a gentle friend.

Hopes are found, not all is gone,
Found a dream to keep.
Dried the rivers that forged a creek,
Kept a promise to believe in me.

It amazes me now,
In all of my dreams,
I'm right where I need
To be.

Once I saw the future taken away,
Now I have the future of a brighter day.
While in this journey of life I'm called,
I stand through the storms that roll.

I walked along the darkened streets
Until the sun arrived to shine on me.
A dream I'd thought, never real,
Took by surprise and smiled still.

In all my dreams, most all came true
Joy and smiles and loving too.
A heart of care, an angel's keep
After all, this life's been deep.

When life gets deep I put on me waders, however I watch out for nasty alligators! Smile... life is an awesome journey.
