•Rahm Emanuel refusing to answer questions about his possible role in Blojo-gate. Ladies and gentlemen, your new White House chief of staff!
Is Emanuel the adviser on gov tape? MUM | Obama's chief of staff refuses to answer the question December 11, 2008 BY FRAN SPIELMAN AND ABDON M. PALLASCH Staff Reporters President-elect Barack Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, refused to take questions from reporters this morning about whether he was the Obama “advisor” named in the criminal complaint against Gov. Rod Blagojevich. The complaint states Blagojevich wanted a promise of a high-level appointment or some other reward for Blagojevich in exchange for Blagojevich naming Obama’s friend Valerie Jarrett to replace him in the U.S. Senate. Emanuel was uncharacteristically absent from Obama’s news conference this morning. He was spotted two hours later in the lobby of Chicago’s City Hall. He was there to listen to his two children performing in a concert with their school, Anshe Emet. A Sun-Times reporter pressed him to comment about whether he was the emissary named in the criminal complaint. “You’re wasting your time,” Emanuel said. “I’m not going to say a word to you. I’m going to do this with my children. Don't do that. I’m a father. I have two kids. I’m not going to do it.” Asked, “Can’t you do both?” Emanuel replied, “I’m not as capable as you. I’m going to be a father. I’m allowed to be a father,” and he pushed the reporter’s digital recorder away. Blagojevch was caught on tape saying that he wanted the Obama advisor in question to know what Blagojevich wanted in exchange for the Jarrett appointment. Blagojevich said, “He asks me for the fifth CD thing, I want it to be in his head.” Emanuel represents the 5th Congressional District in Illinois. No one in the Obama campaign or administration has been charged with any wrongdoing. Obama said this morning that none of his staff has had a hand in any dealmaking on his Senate replacement. http://www.suntimes.com/news/politics/obama/1326788,rahm-emanuel-blagojevich-obama-121108.article |

Geez, can't we wait for all the information to come out before we convict people. Let the guy be a father and let the law take its course. I don't blame the guy for not wanting to talk to the media for the right or the left.
I swear the media just can't wait to accuse people before all the information is even in. This goes for no matter who is the subject, republican or democrat. The right is pretending to be so outraged, as if they were asleep the last 8 years and never noticed the corruption in Washington? Please! Are any of us really that suprised by corruption in either camp? The republicans have already run an ad campaign against Obama. Pathetic. |

Simple, all he had to do was say: I'm not involved, thats my only comment. Now leave me to be with my children.
He didn't do that and Good Ole Rahm already has a track history all his own, now doesn't he? Point is, All I've heard is Obama=Change and it's being proven to be rhetoric, Before the guy even takes his oath of office. Which he will have broken the moment he takes it, by Hilary's unconstitutional appointment. Coulda had Ron Paul. ![]() |

I have agreed with some of your posts, but I don't agree that any rhetoric has been proven to date and you can be sure I don't miss much. I want to know what is going on, no matter who's in office on either side. As I have said before, People need to allow things to take their course and we will see soon enough who's guilty of what.
Believe me every politician has a history, all of them. Ones we find out about and others we have yet to find out about. Rahm is not the type to be bullied by the press, I think I would have been far less controlled at their invasion when I am dealing with my kids. Why the press feels the need to needle these people.. maybe just to get them to say something that can be endlessly twisted by the media on either side. Let the law get the facts and then discuss it. I listened to Paul's speeches as I did to the others on both sides and I wouldn't have chosen Paul either for some of the views he had. Though there were a few things I did agree with. |

Well I would be willing and open to any legit information as to the character and history of Emanuel. Sneaky and hot tempered doesn't tell me much. I spent the first 20 years of my life with a hot temper but never directed violently at anyone, mostly just irritated myself. That doesn't make me untrustworthy.. We all know very well that if a person is involved in discussions the media and others will blow it out of proportion before they even have the facts. I hate this when it happens to anyone, and I do mean anyone on the right or left. Give me facts from a legit source, and I am happy to have a look and decide for myself. I do find him a bit arrogant, he does come off that way, but then I don't know many in Washington that don't come off that way. Still doesn't prove wrong doing, and discussions don't either. |

The planned pay raise for Hillary's position has been revoked, therefore she is allowed to accept the position.

I don't anything about this man.
I would have been annoyed if someone was trying to interview me in front of my children. And it's even worse that it was at an event where the children's schoolmates were at too. Gio, I thought people were innocent until proven guilty. |

You know, I didn't vote for Bush, but when he was elected, I also didn't run around the internet trying to trip him up before he was even in office. I gave him time to prove himself inspite of the fact that I thought he was an arrogant self centered air head right from the start and he used every hot button issue to get elected. I still gave him a chance....
Why not let Obama get something done first, he isn't even in office yet and we are making mountains out of mole hills. I remember republican folks telling democratic voters to get over it when Bush won. Now it's time for republicans to do the same and give the guy a chance. I will stand by you if he fails to live up to his words... |

I posted a pretty comprehensive history of Mr.Emanuel when he was tapped to be Cheif of Staff. This is the guy who stabbed the table at some dinner while naming off the enemies of the Clintons.
He has military exp., too bad it's for Israel and not the US, he's one of those dual citizen types, not unlike Chertoff. I can't wait for the FBI to release the results of their findings, which might involve Jesse Jackson Jr., Emanuel and could go up to Barack himself. What a great way to start one's administration... Bush started out bad due to the Supreme court giving him the Presidency, Obama's is going to start with an unconstitutional appointment and this debacle. you got 2 cents to add? I expect "change"! |

Obama's is going to start with an unconstitutional appointment and this debacle. not un-constitutional , any longer... |

Ok do you have links to this information about Emanuel? And please if it's from a republican source, I doubt I will take it all that seriously but I will read it.
The only problem I have with Isreal is that I think they have a responsibility to the palistinians. Call me what you like but I do think that many Isrealies would like to see something done about these matters. I don't know that I trust Jesse Jackson Jr I think he was too quick to explain himself in press conference. Just seemed a bit odd when nothing was absolutely proven yet, but then he has healthy ego himself and could be his youth is showing... But I might have a suspicion here but for now that's all it is until you show me proof. As for the stabbing into table business, temper temper. I can relate, but have long since learned to control my temper, some just take longer to learn it. but proves nothing yet.. waiting for your link if you have them handy. Gotta say that I might also suspect you of looking for conspiracy where none might exist. Wondering about your feelings for Jews and blacks as well, though again doesn't prove your prejudice but might prove your bias? |

Gotta say that I might also suspect you of looking for conspiracy where none might exist. Wondering about your feelings for Jews and blacks as well, though again doesn't prove your prejudice but might prove your bias? Ah, so here it is. First, I'm far from a Republican, so that arguement goes out the window. In fact the Reps and Dems are two wings of the same predatory bird. Second, where did you dig up this not so thinly veiled accusation of racism towards me? In fact, I think you should apologize and retract that right away. As far as temper, temper, is there any evidence that he has any less of one, or does his reaction to being questioned by the reporter, snapping at him and shoving the recording device away from him show that he is just as tempermental as any Cheney or McCain have been shown to be? You want your links, here, let me supply them from a decidely NON Republican website. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/11/05/rahm-emanuel-knife-fighte_n_141595.html Rahm's so proIsrael that he will sacrifice American interests. Aipac calls him their go to guy. I don't have issues with Israel, until their people work inside this country to invole us in their pathetic religious conflicts. Why won't this country stop playing big brother bully for Isreal and make them face their own consequences, does it have anything to do with millions in donation money and political support? All hail the Neo's Whether thats Lib or Con. http://www.counterpunch.com/walsh10142006.html Jesse Jackson Jr. knows what he did... well, him and the FBI/State Department. How about a news organization that doesn't really have a dog in the horse race? http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article5332897.ece Give me a break, you want to play games on behalf of the Obamamaniacs, go ahead, but just because he's better at speaking in public and says the things you want to hear, a saviour doesn't make him. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's probably a Global elitist. |

It could endanger the case against him to say anything before charges have been filed.
I am all for swift justice but really... |
