Christianity will more than likely always be around however it is on the decline in the US. Anyway, that is irrelevant to this debate.

I dont know what that last sentence means. No one should be allowed recognition of their own spirituality while in a public school that is state funded.
a "falling away" of their beliefs" Apostasy. Christians will seem a minority then.

When I pointed that out a while ago on another thread, I was called rude, and I was asked how dare I post that in this particular thread. The then OP is well known for rudeness herself, but it really baffled me. I had just come back after a few month of absence, and I didn't know her at that time.

I'm not saying I can't be rude, I know I can though I try not to be, and when anger gets at me I sign out and take a deep breath before I respond. Doesn't work all the time, but I'm getting better.

I always thought the ears itching thing was sort of funny.

My grandma once told me if the tip of your nose itches you are going to kiss a fool. Think that's true?

laugh some probably think that ohwell I realize my understanding of some things does not line up with what is commonly taught in most Churches. But that's okay, at least I came to them based on my studies and not just others teachings.Heck, I enjoy debating with others on here at times, Even Abra, yep, I said it. At least he and others get me deeper into my studies with their ideologies. If we all agreed, these forums would dry up and go away.

I think we need to tone down the accusations of "bashing" on this website. Yes, you do need to prove such allegations otherwise they aren't worth the time it will take you to make them.

I vote for "controversial and sometimes heated debate and exhange of ideas" as opposed to "bashing" works for me.

Thats why Im irritated. The liberals and the "non-believers" take every bit as much slack on these forums if not more. We all have a right to criticize whatever we want. That is permissible. The Christians have access to their own private forum if they wish to post there and that way, they will not have to listen to any conflicting opinions or dialogue. That is not bashing.

People seem to forget that a number of our Founding Fathers were very active Christians and Liberals. One of the signers of the Declaration of Independence was The Rev. John Witherspoon, a Presbyterian Minister. Also the British Parliament referred to the Revolution as, "An uprising of our Presbyterian cousins."

Liberal and Christian are not antonyms. Just as Christian and Conservative are not synonyms.

The decline in church attendance has more to do with an indifference to organized religion. People are looking for Spiritual answers to the meaning of life...not religious doctrine.

Sorry if this sounds a bit off topic.

No one has ever made the claim that there were no Christians involved in the Continental Congress. Only that 6 higher profile Founding Fathers were clearly Deists.Probably more than those 6 but they are most recognizable, Jefferson etc..they have already been listed.

You might want to find a copy of Carolyn Myss's The Sacred Contract of America. It is only available on CD. But well worth a listen to.

The Spiritual/Sacred aspects of this nation...then and now. What the Founding Fathers and Mothers intended and how we have forgotten their intent.
