Polaritybear,

I can't find anything about this in the Post-Dispatch. I've asked a couple of people and they don't know about it either.

Fanta, the more I think about it....free speech, hun. It was in the cold evening and the street was deserted too. I get the feeling that they were the only ones out. It's been cold here!

To the deserted streets? I don't think that's a coincidence.
They chose that time.

I still can't find it in our main paper. I'm confused as to why that is.

They were passing out leaflets.
The streets werent too deserted. One man was asking them to leave.

On Saturday December 20th, about 30-40 people gathered in the University City's Delmar Loop district, an area that is mostly a busy yuppie financial district but seems to be a melting pot for all walks of life, also the location of the most recent fatal shooting of a cop.

As people gathered, a small business owner saw masked people gathering about in the cold night and reminded us that we we're on his property and once we abandon the role of isolated atomized individuals then the property is no longer available for us to use.

So the solidarity march began. On the sidewalks we began, a small group walking amongst the freezing and surprisingly empty streets heading eastward.

And it's not in our main paper.

Police Officer Shot and Killed
Sgt. Michael King was a 25-year U. City veteran. 'He was a professional policeman, and he loved being a policeman.'
Matthew Hathaway, Patrick M. O'Connell
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
2008 Nov 2
UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. -- Sgt. Michael R. King was about an hour and a half into his Friday night shift when he pulled into a parking spot on Leland Avenue, directly in front of the University Square apartments and only a few feet away from the bustling Delmar Loop.

King, a 25-year University City police veteran, was sitting in his marked police car about 10:20 p.m. when police say a convicted drug dealer walked up to the car and fired several shots from a handgun, killing the sergeant.

Those are two totally separate incidents....drug dealer a month prior.

I don't understand your point. Drug dealer and over a month later - protesting Greece.

What difference does that make?
These people were in the same area calling for violence against police.
AND, the law abiding citizens who support them! The drug dealer may have been connected to them. Who knows???

Also the article says,
With loud chants of "From St. Louis to Greece - **** the police!" filling the quiet air, busboys and waiters/waitresses came out from restaurants giving a positive reaction to what we were doing.

As we ended the end of the strip of the loop flyers were tossed into the air and scattered about by the high winds, then we turned around and got in the street. Not long after getting in the street did the police confront us.

If you want to support this kind of crap in your town that's your business, but I wont support it here!

The areas around the Loop are not good neighborhoods. They are trying to change that. That is where the drug dealer comes into play.

My gut feeling is that it was some college kids. There is a big college called Washington University near there. The students are from all over the world. I would like to see more information.

I'm not saying that I'm for this. It's not cut and dry to me.

By calling for the death of our police and our citizens?
WTF did we have to do with what happened in Greece?
They want to bring their brand of violence here?

"DEATH TO THE POLICE AND THE CLASS THAT HOLDS THEIR LEASHES!"
"DEATH TO THE WORLD OF WAGE SLAVERY AND WORK!"

These problems aren't going away, and the resistance in Greece doesn't seem to be dying down anytime soon, in fact, as we can see - it is spreading.

Things are getting worse without even the false promises that they will get better, so we might as well create the world we want, we can lash out individually or we can try to collectivize revolt and make it uncontrollable.

Here and elsewhere, this is only a beginning.

I say its the wrong place!
We dont need this crap in America!!
