Compromising implies a mutual agreement.

Settling means just accepting what you're presented with.

Settling is giving up something you want for the sake of getting something that may be less than what you want.

Compromising is finding an acceptable and tolerable middle-ground that doesn't require anyone to violate their standards.

Settleing is when you accept something you really don't want with no greater good to be had by compromiseing. Compromiseing is generally a fair or even win win situation. My late husband agreed to only smoke away from me because of my heart problems. I am sure there were times he would have enjoyed a quiet smoke in our home. He felt my health and ultimately that he smoked less to be a win win compromise.

With MOST,
Compromising takes longer to TALK it OVER..
So,,the OTHER(mostly the one who doesn't like to talk much) Thinks to just settle..for WHATEVER,,verses discussing it in an adult fashion.drinker My thoughts anyway..

Settling is when you know you can't reach a climax, and compromising is when you both agree to fake one!
