What is it like at your church or house of worship?
Are your pastors or church leaders spirit filled?
Do you often get goosebumps along with the message?
Is there one reason over another that you attend?
The sermons? The music? Bible study? Friends that attend? All the above?
I'm looking for a not just a "good church". I'm looking for a phenomenal church in my area.
I'd love to hear about your particular churches and current status( looking like me, or not looking at all)
Anyone care to share?

The reasons I attend the church I belong to are many. The Senior teaching Pastor has a heart for God and for the Body of Christ. The church leadership as a whole is caring and committed to sharing God's love in the world. They support various ministries at home and abroad.

I believe it is good for Christians to attend a local church if they are able to do so. I also understand there are times in one's spiritual walk when this may not be possible.

The lessons (sermons) each week are informative and help us to grow in our faith. This is not a local church for me at the moment, but it will be when I move into the area in the coming months. I am looking forward to being involved in some of the many small groups and bible studies at that time.

I am new to Montana, and I came because I know that God brought me here. I attended a huge church in Tucson, AZ. Was very much apart of everything. I lead praise and worship, I taught an adult Sunday school class, yet something wasn't right. And their main slogan was "We are going to love people to Jesus"

One day I was listening to one of the pastor's preach and I felt this push so I stood up, grabbed my bible and went outside sat at a table and read. Something was missing. Next time this happened, I felt a deep saddness come over me. Everyone was telling me how rude I was being getting up during a sermon. I had to, I was being called to leave.

Then one Sunday morning, I realized what it was, the sermons no longer addressed all of the trinity. Even though we had many groups to join, no one ever cared about who or what was teaching a class, no one was being filled and everyone was comfortable in their sin. When addressed in Sunday school, they would become angry. Even though you were reading out of the bible.

I understood that the Holy Spirit was grieving and I was taken to the book of Revelation regarding the churches and I understood. When a church becomes big, does not necessarily mean it with God's blessings. He will sooner or later bring the church to it's knees. The church had wrapped itself up in inself, glorifying God with their mouths but not their hearts.
Sin was not being addressed as it should be. It was allowed to play itself out and to continue. The Lord will not bless that. I prayed and realized that the Lord was taking me out of the church but also out of Tucson.

I actually found the church I go to now, on the internet, I emailed them and the pastor contacted me right away. It is a church, all of his sermons are from the bible, he does not place his opinions on them, we are taught through the word. Believe me sometimes it can be harsh, but I need discipline without it we stay in our sin. We actually praise and worship the Lord. It's been a nice change. It is a much smaller church, but God has me here for a reason and I am taking it all in, every last bit. We are to be participants, we are to be held accountable and responsible for our own actions.

Goosebumps? I get spirit bumps that last a long time. I am being fed, and I am growing much deeper. I was brought here, and I am glad I came.

Jesus is coming soon, and everything is coming to past.

I love my church. There are so many reasons why...so much history & sticking together thru thick & thin. We are a spirit led, great teaching family church with a school & day care center. We love our pastorial family so much. Oh the history. It's proved who the loyal & faithful are still to this day.

We are getting ready for great things. all things in God's timing.

Hi Britty, thank you for sharing.flowerforyou
I've not been a regular member of any one church fellowship for quite awhile. It's only recently that I've opened up enough to hear and heed that still small voice convicting me to honor my faith in the Lord and seek fellowship on a regular basis. I'm excited about it because although I am still looking, I believe the Holy Spirit will lead me to where the Lord wants me to be.

Hi k8.flowerforyou

Wow!...Praise God, what a wonderful testimony.
Hearing it has blessed me with extra confidence and hope that something as wonderful may soon be in store for me.
I'm single without any kids left at home so I'm open to that same kind of move, should it be God's will.
Thank you so so much for sharing and I look forward to hearing more about those spirit bumps. bigsmile That's what I'm looking for too.

Hi QSflowerforyou , I'm so inspired by some of your posts. Often times I feel as though the comments and responses of my new Christian singles friends are just especially for me. I'll be wrestling with some aspect of some topic and I'll be blessed with just what I needed to hear to lead me back to the main thing, which is giving glory to God and continuing to study his word.

Living out in the boonies on a mountain top we have a good pastor. He works full time as a carpenter and I got to help in building our new church. Actually it was a small church that got expanded into a much larger church. He is a good friend, too. His father had the church before him and there has been many revivals in the church. He helped me to fix my well pump last year and doesn't have any trouble in getting his hands dirty. His wife is the song leader and recently his brother got saved. His brother plays the guitar with him at the start of service and we even have a banjo player. His son plays the electronic organ and my cousin's husband across the street picks the guitar. A lot of times my cousin sings with her husband and they have recorded a lot of songs in their song studio. I have never been to a church that had so many guitar players.

I believe He will also. I think it can be a good thing during that time of not being in a regular church membership to spend some time alone with God. I also find working in the garden a pleasant time for spending time with the Lord. Taking care of the plants, pruning and weeding reminds me of how the Lord looks after His creation.

I found a small church gathering one sunday morning on top of a mountain in New Hampshire. I thought that was kind of cool!

Yes well we are fasting this week leading up to prayer on Wed. for the new year. I am excited about that. I am also involved with a prophetic prayer group from going to the conferences. There is actually one in january. ZAPPED! Even though it's a women's conference men are invited to also come. LOL I think that's great!

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I am very inspired by those like yourself who don't get frazzled by the many derrogatory posters on the boards. The love & maturity you & people like MS show is amazing to me. LOL As you can see that is not one of my better traits. Patience that is. LOL I'm gettin' there tho.

That's the challenge for me this year... drinker

God is good ....
