Topic: Obama silent on Gaza

Obama the 1st, His Most Merciful and Beneficent, Man of the People, is out golfing while the Middle East erupts into violence. “The Office of the President-Elect,” that invented non-entity that has a press conference on every issue, has nothing to say. While a major crisis is unfolding, the man who will be president in three weeks (and would be already if his cheerleaders had their way) is out golfing and living in a rented villa worth $8.5 million dollars.

Imagine the outcry from liberal pundits and the media if this were a Republican. First of all, there would be the usual “out of touch rich politician” comments stemming from his stay in a multimillion dollar home. Then there would be the “asleep at the switch” comments. Try this one on for size:

“Bush Golfs While Gaza Burns”

Now, I realize that Obama is not actually president yet, which is a fact apparently lost on liberals. Every time he holds another press conference behind his podium with its fictional seal and title on it, liberals immediately want to know why His word is not being carried out….not only by Congress, but by the ACTUAL president. So how come he’s not standing behind His podium right now, giving us His wisdom? For that matter, why has Obama not already solved the problem?

Did we not hear the pronouncements of Obama’s ability to bring everyone in the known universe together? Did we not hear how he is such a great “uniter” and that we needed that after having a “divider” in office for so long? Did we not hear how much smarter he is than, well, everyone? Plus, he’s (half) black AND has Hussein as his middle name, which we are NOW told is an advantage when dealing in the Middle East. Should he not be able to simply wave his “Hope and Change” wand and end all that bloodshed and suffering?

If this were a Republican there would columns demanding answers to these questions. The liberal pundits would flood the Sunday talk shows and mock him for staying in a rich man’s home and vacationing, instead of flying to Washington to be briefed and attend consultations with leaders. Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and other members of the Monochrome Coalition would be holding press conferences to proclaim that the incoming Republican was out golfing in Hawaii because he doesn’t care about minorities. Yet these people are all silent when Obama does nothing.

So to liberals I ask this: where is your God now? More importantly, why aren’t YOU asking that question?

All presidents have a lot to answer for, lets at least wait to see what he does do. There is still only one president at a time.

Israel and the Palestinians have been at each other for decades. It amazes me that cooler heads on both sides can't work this out, it's always innocent people caught in the crossfire and some find that more amusing than tragic.

We should stop backing Israels over the top responses. I am hoping Obama isn't brainwashed by the powers that be that support Israel's radical side at all cost, but I am not holding my breath because there are butt heads on both sides of the isle and there are butt heads on both sides of this particular story.

Bush is still president, though you'd hardly know it.

I don't find the gaza situation amusing at all. What I do find amusing is how the Obama supporters on this site are not calling on Obama to make a statement on the Gaza conflict. I think this thread and the lack of posting by Obama supporters proves the article's point.

perhaps Obama knows there is not a peaceful diplomatic solution to this crisis.

perhaps he also knows his promise if getting the troops out of the mideast was just BS and downright impossible....so he is quiet.

besides I dont think foreign policies was obamas strongest point seller. who knows.

You have a man with 2 years of Congress experience and before that he was a community organizer.I don't think he knows what he is getting into.He has no military experience and has only been to Iraq twice and met the commanders of the American armed forces once. You think Bush was bad.Should be interesting watching this train wreck happen.

if you think that Israel's business is not America's business or that we some how have nothing to do with what's going on in the middle east, then you are sadly mistaken. just today we vetoed a UN resolution condemning Israel's aggression. it's not like we're minding our business and letting them resolve their issues their own way ,we always get involved and stick our neck out for Israel, not to mention our " UNCONDITIONAL support" to the state of Israel. unconditional support? since when should we unconditionally support any body? if i remember correctly, it was Thomas Jefferson who in his inaugural address in 1801 said "peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none."
we should stick to the principles this country was founded upon.
Obama is no different either, go to youtube and search for his AIPAC speech. his foreign policy will be like Bush, you just wait!

OBAMA'S stance is not a secret. he has "unconditional support" for Israel. Obama OWES his presidency to the Jews in this country period.

Who has been attacking Israel for at last 60 years?Who is to blame for all this violence? You keep hitting the bee hive with a stick sooner or later the bees are going to get pissed off and sting you.Israel has always tried to reason with these people with no results. You also don't want to forget what would happen if one of those missiles hit the nuclear reactor in Israel.

Typical

Obama is silent on this issue? So is Bush.

The thing is, Bush is the sitting President and as the President it is up to him to address this now. Instead his silence speaks volumes. It is his unspoken blessing on the actions of Israel.

But here is my question...why does this bother you bomb them into the stone age types?

I thought any thing Israel did was okay with you all?

Some why shouldn't Bush and Obama be silent eh?

I thought you liked it that way?

Bush has spoken. His message was fairly clear.
Soon enough it will be Obama's and Clinton's turn.
