Valid question. On some dating sites, it is a necessity. In some of the social circles I'm in, it is not appropriate to ask occupation until you have known someone for quite some time or are interested in a relationship with them. Otherwise, in general, I don't stress it up front; but, if I'm asked directly, I will disclose slowly based on how much trust is in any new relationship with an acquaintance. Of course it is something that would be disclosed openly in non dating situations. Have I confused you yet? :smile:
