You know with so many christian singles. It seems like there should be more christian social meeting places-clubs/cafes/jazz/cool music sandwich/ice-cream shop for social activity.A relaxing cozy atmophere for single christians to meet. We are so limited on what is avaiable to us in many of our communities. Not only could it be a blessing to the christian community but also it could be profitable.It would certainly have to be a success, if it is to keep the christian singles comming back to meet and patronize the venue. My sister and I have talked about having such a place available. It would be ran like any other business and be supervised. What are your thoughts? Any suggestions?

Sounds like a great idea.I know around my city if I know the business is run by a Christian I will support them rather then the other store.Your right though.Not too many places out there.
I think if someone did it though you would get a lawsuit by some idiot aeithest saying that they are somehow denied because they were not a Christian.I know that happened recently with E-Harmony.They were a exclusive Christian singles site(although any straight person could join).A gay man sued them saying that it was discrimination that they did not have a man for man section.Amazingly he won and E-harmony had to start a gay dating site. |

EHarmony has no back bone.It was designed to help christian be selective in there mate selections.My place would be a place to make friends. And hopefully the patrons would becareful in making friends as they would in any church, club or any other social activity. I wouldn't band people who weren't christian from my christian cafe. Who knows it very well could be a neutral ground where the Holy Spirit could move easily. He doesn't do all His work at church. He usually works outside the walls.I would just ask God to minister to His people. All that are and all that will become. Not preachy. Just allowing the Holy Spirit to permiate the atmosphere. Their hearts would be open. It is possible to have such a place!

Welcome here betster. that sounds like a nice idea. Perhaps you could check with local churches in your area that might provide similar things, like a coffee shop etc, and see what kind of feedback you receive. A church I went to in New Hampshire started with a monthly coffee evening, it has now become a coffeeshop open on a regular basis. Good luck. |

I like the ideas thrown around so far. There are events by me but most just don't work with my schedule or are too formal.
I was wondering if any would be interested in setting up a chat just for Christian Singles? I chat all the time on IRC (Internet Relay Chat, chat channels galore). I also used to host a Christian singles chat on the former FireTalk till it was purchased by PalTalk. If any interest let me know here or email me and I'll post instructions and where it will be! The programs and all are free and just need small program or can use any chat program that can connect to irc servers. |

I think there should be Christian singles hangouts. It's hard to meet someone. Since 1... your church is small and 2... your shy to a fault!
