That got messed up, lol. I am genuinely a knight in shining armor, and it appears to me that we are unappreciated today. It is nice to know that someone is still looking for one. And while friends can be a source of great comfort, they do not feed the same need that love does.

It is so cold here - well for England - that the snow is still on the ground.

Because women (and men) have become so cynical that they think we are lying when we state what we are.

I don't think that is the reason.
It's rather that we see things different, what for the one is a knight, for another might be a villain.
Ok, that's overdoing it a bit, but I think you get the gist of it.

Basically, I think we were much better off before everyone started insisting on their rights and their own way. As a society we have gotten so self-centered and proud that it is much more difficult for a relationship to last.

Their are many variables that come into play in a relationship now days. The one I find disturbing is the use of the word "next" I find that many people will give very little time for a relationship to mature. How does a person really know after, sometimes as short as the first date, that the person may not be right for them? I don't think a few weeks is really long enough to get to know someone so that you really know that person. That person could very well be who you can be happy with but maybe because of some small reason, one or the other says "Next"

I agree, WW. We are living in what I call an "ADD culture". We are far too much concerned with physicality, externals, and trivial differences in interests, and far too little concerned with heartfelt values and commitment.

I'm no knight in shining armor. I can't save anyone from themselves.
The armor I do have is a thick skinned sensibility that protects me, but does little for anyone else.
I can't fulfill anyone's fantasy or slay their dragons, but what I can and will do is to be true to my own principles concerning fair play and courteous consideration of others.
In being true to myself lies the genuine capacity to be true to others. I think that's the best anyone can do or hope for.

We all concern ourselves with the physical. We also have our "deal breakers" I found that a deal breaker can actually hurt when looking. I thought I could never date a smoker and in some cases I think that might still be an issue, but I did date a women who smoked and found her company to be very pleasant. While the distance became an issue we have remained friends and still think highly of each other. If the distancec was closer I wouldn't have a problem with dating her. All her good qualities far out weighed her smoking.

I agree with you 100%

suit or blue jeans and a t-shirt would be nice.
I'm not picky.
Pat

I do believe deep down we all want that fantasy, regardless what that Knight looks like.

At this age, any knight worth his salt, would have banged up, severly worn armour.
If you want a fairy tale, keep dreaming.
If you want reality, then make your dream come true.
Lots of decent ladies & gents here, those worth knowing are REAL & need to be treated like real people.
I would MUCH rather deal with real folks, than those still dreaming of what never was.

Hard nosed old sage, aren't I.

There are a lot of good men and women from our age group. Often times overlooked because of our age. Yes?
