Death’s Lecture
Death has come calling.
This touch is not of ice.
His presence, not appalling.
In fact, its rather nice.

My essence still remains
In my humble point of view.
Every time I am remembered
By the living that I knew.

For these are the wise ones,
Who boldly must still linger
Inside their earthly vessels
Harvesting experiences
Like the songs of the singer.

So when you do remember
Someone who has passed on,
Please keep this in mind:
Their essence is that
of which you are so fond
And that, my dears, is the part
That lingers far beyond
Any ripples in life’s pond.

So when you get
Those maudlin thoughts
And grief at my demise,

Don’t remember
The way I went.
Please stop
And remember
The time we spent
And the laughter in my eyes.

Bluntly, remember me,
Not, the empty shell I leave.

For the I of me
Is now housed differently
Than that which you have known.

Its not so bad.
So don’t be sad
‘Cause my shell’s no longer shown.

I'm not sure if this is what you meant. Feel free to modify in anyway you feel applies.

Punctuation nightmare, sorry had to revamp that.
