This is where I am, I’m a Methodist, I’m affirmed to my faith, and fully accept Jesus as my lord and savior and I’m not afraid to tell that to anyone. This in mind, I realize that morality and right or wrong are completely confined to the perception of each and every person. By popular opinion, since that is scientifically applicable as a valid result (through probability) I pose my question: Is being addicted to love, passion, lust, and pleasure, wrong? Chemically speaking, with the acceptation of love, they all have similar reactions that drugs do. I’m finding that they are just as addictive as any drug I’ve heard about, hence my predicament. With my own mind being torn between the two possibilities, my moral perception has been compromised. So I pose it to you, the reader, please respond.

You should not feel guilty about the way god made you, it is in how you act to satiate those needs/ addictions that should be your moral delima not in how you have them..it is even dictated within the good book(used mostly for evaluation of joining the catholic priesthood)

1 Corinthians 7:9 it is better to marry than to burn

Is a person wrong for considering options/opinions that go against what they morally feel is wrong? no. The choices/actions you make will define your life. People that chamber their mind into a box often never find true happiness.

any kind of an addiction is self destructive and defeating. You have to decide when it becomes a problem and affects your quality of life. And then do something about it

Go ahead, sin. He already died for your sins.

Alright, I'll address some of these comments, mostly because I enjoy debate and being difficult. First off, how one 'satiates needs'. If I can find out if the thing is wrong, I'll be more apt to stop it, this finding a way to satisfy urges will be null and void. Second, going ahead and sinning. Just because my Lord died for my sin, doesn't give me a pass to do it everything. Being as good as I can is the only way to start to repay my Lord for his sacrifice. Next the compartmentalization of my mind. I have a system that involves that. I'm very glad to happy, it makes things simpler and easer to see logically. I've suffered no loss of happiness to compartmentalizing my consciouses, I must be an exception, goody. And finally,it being wrong if it feels wrong to my beliefs. This is, if anything, the core of my dilemma. I don't know if it feels write or wrong, I'm conflicted.

if your conflicted all i can suggest is continue to think on what it is that ur conflicted about , run it through ur mind untill you know how you feel about it,

if after time you are still at a loss , then avoid whatever it was that had you at a loss to begin with then see how you feel

well it can't feel "write" period..and you're missing the point you are over analyzing and being stubborn which you openly admitted..so you sir will have to figure out your own moral delima and chose to follow the lost sheep or live in you're tidy herd

don't take too much offense if any, it was not intended to do more than make you think

CONVICTION

church from the beginning and was intended to bring forth the "ideal man" within oursleves through the bible.

very good advice, thank you. The problem is, if I avoid it completely, then I go through life lonely, which is something I hope God hasn't planned for me. And no offense was taken at all. I can be overbearing at times. Even though I try to be a tat more afemonent at times, the testosterone wins out every now and again. and yes, my spelling is atrocious.

best wishes

The good lord loved people. So much so... That you know the rest of the story. You know the drill. Ask him. He shall direct you. Hasn't done me wrong yet. I like people. He directs the good in my heart everyday. Its a fine line between controling your own destiny and having purpose in your destiny. Don't use your faith as a cloak or stepping stone. The strengths are in you. Let your spirit which is inherently good relish the choice you made in your heart of free will. It is better to have faith with you invited on your journey than to have your journey dictated by faith. Then its in every aspect of your life.
