The State takes thousands and thousands of children from their homes and
then puts them in foster care where they are abused and molested and the
original families have to pay tens of thousands of dollars to the state.
The State of Florida makes 20 Billion dollars annually for supposedly
"protecting" the children and thousands of kids are unacounted for in
the foster care program. The whole thing is a scam and is very
disgusting.

This is truly disturbing.

I heard this guy on an hour long program.

It doesn't just take kids from good homes, you know. We're talking drug
abusers and criminals, here.

And statistically, fewer kids are abused/molested/neglected in foster
care than in the "protection" of their biological parents.

It's not a perfect system by any means. But it's doing a better job
than biology seems to be in this nation.

Some kids really need to go into foster homes.... until you've seen
abused children you can't imagine. I don't hesitate to report someone.

They dont make money off of the "bad" parents because they dont have any
money.

But they do make hundreds of thousands of dollars from "good parents"
that have to pay to have their kids in "storage by the state."

you obviously did not look at the link, just like you always dont.

sorry it's not that I meant to disregard your post... but how can you
assume that all these parents are good parents? I don't doubt that it
doesn't happen to some good parents, but how can you tell who is good
and who isn't without being the investigator or having first hand
experience in the matter?

Did you just imply bad people don't have money? And I don't recall any
proof on that site that it deserved to be trusted, so until you have
that- it's nothing but another piece of made-up internet flotsam. I
addressed the original point at hand.

Cheers to the State.

Fla. can't find 1,000 kids in state custody
AP News

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (CNN) -- Florida's child welfare agency said Monday
it was unable to account for about 1,000 children in its system,
including about 400 believed to have run away and more than 100 others
missing because a non-custodial parent or relative took them.

"You just hope and pray that nothing happens, and you do your darnedest
to find them," said Larry Pintacuda, the assistant secretary of
operations for the Florida Department of Children and Families.

"As soon as any kid we think is missing, we're notifying law
enforcement."

The agency made the announcement after caseworkers tried to visit all
46,403 children under the agency's jurisdiction last month.

Gov. Jeb Bush ordered the agency to see all the children after the
department in April revealed that 5-year-old Rilya Wilson had not been
accounted for in 15 months.

But the department's review seemed to raise more questions than answers.

The agency could not answer whether the review turned up any new cases
of missing children or if any children were located in areas different
from where they were supposed to be.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement offers reward

In addition, the report's numbers of missing children differ from what
the Department of Law Enforcement said the agency had given them. The
law enforcement agency said the DCF had reported 155 missing to them
through May.

In a conference call with reporters, Pintacuda said 972 children were
unaccounted for.

Caseworkers could not visit four other children because of court orders
preventing them from doing so.

Pintacuda said the agency hopes to interview 265 more children by the
end of the week, saying caseworkers ran out of time to interview them
last month.

Asked if the agency definitely knows where those children are, Pintacuda
said, "Until you see them, we don' know, but we think we know where they
are.

Pintacuda defended the agency's work, saying the goal to interview all
the children in one month was extremely ambitious.

He said "no state in this country" interviewed as many children as the
caseworkers in Florida did last month. He said the number of runaways
was not unusual, because "kids come and they go."

Pintacuda said the agency had interviewed about 98 percent of the
children -- while state and federal law requires 90 percent.

"I don't know if we'll ever see 100 percent," he said. "Our people did a
heck of a job."

But when a reporter said the agency still fell short of the governor's
order, Pintacuda responded, "You're right."

The governor's office had no immediate comment on the report.

So, 1000 of 46000 went missing. Do you realize that's actually pretty
good statistics? Considering "underprivileged" children are usually the
ones in foster care.... and the statistics on runaways and kidnappings
amongst the lower class.... the foster system is STILL doing better than
biology. Not by much, mind, but regardless.

that's awful that they are missing children..grumble I don't know
the statistics offhand, but even if they are good, it's still an awful
thing... The system is supposed to be set up to help children, which I
think it does, most of the time, but losing them is......

I have two foster sisters that were 'taken' from their drug using
parents. My mother raised them with the rest of us. Yes the state paid
her but it wasn't no where near what it cost to raise them.

Are you claiming then sir that my wonderful mother is an abuser.

I have had a very personal experience with the Child Protection Agency
in Illinois. My son was premature, had lung problems causing severe
asthma and something we were not aware of. Severe asthma in premies and
infants causes temporary hearing loss. This goes away as the child
grows, but in the case of premies, that growth is often delayed. My son
did not speak as well as other kids his age, he couldn't hear to
pronounce words properly. On top of this he was always very sick, an
immune deficiency from the severe asthma. I worked, I had to. His care
giver had a terrible experience with a neighbor child who was abused to
the point of death. They knew this was happening but at the time did
not know what to do. The woman who cared for my son never got over
that. When my son made some comments that came out sounding sexual in
nature, she confronted me. Here theory, you see, was that my father,
was abusing my son. I didn't believe it, however, what she reported he
said, did bother me, though I could never get him to repeat to me what
that was. Long story short, She called, she had her two daughters also
call, as in Illinois it takes three reports of abuse for them to follow
up.
When they did, my son was in the hospital with double pnemonia, after
the ER refused to admit him the night before. A nurse during the
attmitance asked me why I had waited so long to bring him in. I was
livid, I told her to check records, he had been in ER twice in 12 hours
both time they refused to admit him saying he was fine, it was just
asthma.
When CFS came they said the records at the hosp showed I had waited to
bring and on top of the three report it was not good.
I was forced to leave my sick 3 year old son, on oxegyn, alone with
strangers, and anatomically correct dolls without ANY representation for
him or myself. They determined that there may be grounds for abuse but
that it was not from me. They wanted him to see a psychriatrist, THEIR
psych. I called 5 lawyers, they would not, could not help me. The 6th
finally told me, I had the right to request my own Psychriatrist. I
did. During this time, while the CFS was investigating I was not
allowed to let my son see my parents. I could not tell them because my
mother had just gotten out of hospital, attempted suicide, she is
bi-polor and I did not think she or my dad could cope. The CFS could
care less, they visited my parents without the completed phychiatric
evaluation and ran their gestapo like questioning through my parents.
During this time I was threatened repeatedly with loss of my child.
Everytime I voiced any opposition any effort to try to validate my
rights, HIS rights, they threatened me with taking him away.

In the end, the psych report indiacated this was an intelligent, well
adjusted, caring little boy with no evidence of any kind of abuse.
There was not apology. When I asked what security I had against someone
who disliked me, calling and making another report, they said, since
nothing was found the case will be delete in full in a year. For 8
months I worried, every ER visit, every doctor visit, until one day, my
son woke up and called me from bed. I ran to his side, he held up his
arms and said "Goodmorning Sunshine" clear as day. It is what I said to
him every morning of his life. He talked all day long, in complete
sentances - he had had a recent growth spurt that opened up his
bronchial tubes and he could hear at last. Now I knew that he could say
for himself if anyone ever hurt him or threatened to. This was good.

Do I agree with having a system where abused children can get away
from abusers. YES. Do I agree with the system as it is run NOT ON
YOUR LIFE. Is it better than nothing? When it's you and your child
involved with an agency that the law won't even touch, NO. The system
is not governed properly, it is legally untouchable, it can not be sued
so there is no responsibility to any undue abuse of it's own that is
placed on those that are "reviewed". It does not, can not even follow
the children it has taken under it's supervision and is not even held
accountable for this. I had been a different person, If I had not been
contolled enough to look for help, to contain myself in "their"
presence, I would have lost my son, and who knows if, when I would have
ever gotten him back. I'm sorry for those who suffer abuse, and I want
a progam in place for them, but that progam has to be accountable to the
poeple whose lives scar forever. When a legal system can not even touch
such an agency, it has has far too much power to be called protective.

Oooh.... I found a website where I can train to be a Jedi Knight!!! I
just have to send them 50$ to get access!

Ok, so I made that one up. But I have run into a bunch of
get-rich-quick sites. With plenty of "this worked for me" testimonials.
Should I believe all those, too?

To Redykeulous,

Im very, very sorry and this post was to inform others of this evil that
has been done to you and thousands of others.

Unfortunitly, some people here delight in me telling the woes of the
evils in this government so they can attack my posts and things that
happen to real people, just like you.

Im so sorry, and disgusted, I hope you conntact Gregg and get involeved
in saving some of these "stolen" children.

God Bless You
