It's a choice made by both parties involved. If it isn't, forget it.

My recipe in part is;

Be the mate you want to have.

Don't let your personal habits get sloppy.

Treat them like a partner not a possession.

Express sexual, emotional, and intellectual desire for your partner dailey.

Be nice to their family but let them deal with them.

Keep in mind to some degree children pass through the relationship and the relationship with your partner is the constant in life.

Spend all resources like BOTH of you earn it.

Listen in porportion to your ears and mouth and remember very little is said on command.

Accept that life is change it isn't personal.

Understand that relationships that are invested in from both sides are more flexible.

That even in a partnership people will get to the same point at different times; sometimes in different ways with different conclusions; that is part of the balance of having a partner.

A partner might be your best friend but you still need other friends and so do they to be healthy.

You can be half of something and still be a whole self.

Just because you know the buttons doesn't make it smart to push them.

Love in a relationship! How do you keep the fire going without burning out or losing interest.

Boredom is the biggest killer of a relationship, don't get stuck in a rut, have a date night, play roles, surprise them with romance
