I still believe in opening doors for a woman and bringing flowers to a first date. Does that make me a sap?

Bro, if it does, then I am a sap also! I did, do now, and always will open a door for a woman, pull out chairs for women, give flowers for no reason. If that makes us saps, then I am proud of it!

I'm guity of this too. Some girls appreciate it, some don't. It depends on the girl. I wouldnt necessarily consider it "sappy"...just more "old-fashioned".

I do appreciate gentlemen. I prefer the nice guy than a bad boy.

bigsmile But the context of what the OP is saying is that women think he is a sap because he opens doors for them and behaves in a chivalric manner.bigsmileSounds like a Nice Guy statement if I ever heard one.

 A true gentleman will behave in a polite fashion, and help all people men and women both, and not with any expectation of special recognition.
