A Fog

The clouded milky veil
saturated that space
you know, that place where
inhale and exhale
stays like your shadow.

The day moon wore her veil
awaiting for the groom
to lift it and place
his known presence
on her waiting lips
changing their demeanor
to blazing and bright
again and new lifetime.

From behind I watched just
as others had in my time
watched her shoulders
rise and fall
as the rain
welled up from her depth
and relinquished to
present without
his
presence.

Once he walked the aisle
toward her
with strides of youth and hope
now only
remember
holds her hand.

Night moon will
remove the veil
in his right place
and will scatter
that which can only
light the pervasive darkness.
