what if............there was no such thing as guns?????

Lets do the math.........take away the guns.......take away the shooting?

If there wree no such thing as bombs, knives, baseball bats......etc.....


would that take away alot of the violence????


or would we just invent a new weapon of choice?????

Hmmmmmmmm, maybe being a part of the solution instead of part of the problem may help. Join civic programs. Mentor troubled kids. Volunteer time to help children. Be involved in community groups. That's what I do. Because I don't want to complain about the issue and do nothing. Act. Be involved. Help. Make a difference. Change a life for the better. Share love. Show hope.

Its easy to be an armchair quarterback and voice opinions. If it bothers you- get up and DO SOMETHING. You know what its like to help a down kid whose piece of sh!t parents were drug addicts and alcoholics and were never there for him? Just spending time with them- listening to them- helping with homework- cooking a good meal- sharing some time whether it be working on a car or watching a ball game. It can be the difference between an eye on the future or the choice to live a thug life.

I agree with you there, man. Cause and effect. It's easy to shake a finger at the symptom or the modus but the cause is what needs to be dealt with.

What if the kid wants to be a thug.....thinks its cool!!!

What if that same kid doesnt want to hang out with the parent.....then what?????

A smile on a 15 year old boys face who has never smiled in his whole life makes it all worth your time. Change your life. Change others lives. Make a difference. Help others less fortunate than you. Its what we were put here for. To love and share.

Then it's time for the ethical youngsters and other role models to step in. Sometimes, a kid just needs to learn that there are different kinds of bad*ss, that's why senseis generally try to instill a little self-control and responsibility.

I would love to send my son to learn karate but he wont.....not interested. But......he loves to skateboard.....who are the good role models????

...truth? Then that kid has already made their decision and the only thing that is going to change them is experience- bad experience. Help those who can be helped. As for those who glamorize thug life. Well it didn't work too well for biggie and tupac now did it? Bet they wished they were still alive to enjoy their money. Ya think? Living on no hope is not fashionable. Give them hope. Then the guns go away.

I'd kick wannabe mini mes ass. But then I could. Because I'm not his parent. Big difference. He will learn. His wake up call is coming. He will change. Its called "Growing up". He's got hope. He's just riding the chronic pothead skater trash train right now cuz he thinks its cool. Well soon he will find out cool don't pay the bills without talent.

To tell you the truth, the most exposure I've had to the skateboarding community was through a Christian pastor.

The guy once met "Animal Chin," a boarding legend.

Anyhoo, the point is that there are a few decent role models in the boarding community, but... sometimes it comes with a price. There be youth pastors lurking.

He isnt a bad kid......he has a huuuuuuuuuuuge heart. But.....I worry alot.

Ya the point is that parents cannot be around all of the time......
