I am tired of going on dates that the person doesnt even come close to looking like their picture(30lbs over wieght and they check the thin box)...Do you think we are really that stupid and wont notice, you are trying to start a relationship and you are bs ing people before you even meet them(great start for you)

I agree some people post old pics and thats pretty stupid actually.
But some people have their own idea of 'thin' or few extra pounds, blah blah blah.
I would say when you talk to the person, if it's important to you, then bring it up. Tell them, "I've gone out on dates before where they lied and don't look like their pics, and it really bothers me" See how the other person reacts.

Regardless what pictures that some post pictures do not always present one as they truly are. Due to photo shoots distances ect..

It is always best to ask the person how recent their pictures are in fact. And to make it clear what you are in fact looking for as well. If it is thin women only you seek then let it be known up front. Profiles are a great way to get ones point across of what they prefer myself I do not take it the wrong way if a man post that he is looking for a slim trim or fitness type person on their profile.

My self once I see those words I will by pass that person due to in no way do I fit within that category and I do not seek another that does not want to be with me in the first place.

Sure there are issues that some can overcome within a relationship. But........you must at least be proud of whom your with and what they look like as far as within your eyes.

But in reality as some say this is the internet and some do deceive others of the real person they are and what they look like. At times some photo's may be 5 or more years old we all change within 5 years some drastically. It is best to make sure you ask the questions that you seek before meeting at times many will ask for the other one to in fact have a cam session with them that way they can in fact get a better ideal of the person that they are interested in. Then you can go from there as far as meeting them in person.

Each person sees others in a different way you may see 30 extra lbs as and issue. They may not see themselves the same way that you do. Just as there may be things about you that in fact is and issue to them. No matter how honest at times some try to be there are certain areas that we in fact see ourselves different then within then others see us.

Main thing is to ask plenty of questions and do not put everything into the first meet. Take it as two friends meeting for some good conversation. Not as they are everything your looking for. Believe me there will always be something there that is different then you expected. No one is perfect and therefore we should never expect perfection from anyone may it be their views of life, love or how they see themselves.

As we get older and look in the mirror it is funny how we still see just us looking back. We don't notice the gray that much or that our features have changed in many ways. All we see is the person looking back at us.

Good points by all. I've been in and out of the online dating world for a few years (more than I should admit:), and I think I know when I've seen a deliberate "mis-lead", and when it's been truly a difference in perspective or perception. The latter is fine, but the former is not a good way to start a friendship/relationship. Personaly, I try to undersell and overdeliver. But, that doesn't often get you the first date, I know. Just one of the challenges of the cyberworld we're all living in now. Best of luck to all. :+)

I agree that people should use pictures that are taken within 6 months to a year.
