Made From Nothing

A tiny scrap
Of nothing
Filled with great something
Folded so neatly
And placed in your palm,

Wet from few tears
And faded by fears
Was something
No other would see.
None other than you
Could it be.

Expectant intrigued
Unfolded and pleased
With just a small scrap
In your hand,

You held what would be
What the world couldn't see
What your teardrops
Have made so real,

This lump of nothing
You feel.

You unfolded a heart
There in the dark
Stained by
Tears made of long past.

Creased and so fragile
Yet limpidly agile
New life
Into this heart
You've breathed.

None other would dare
Nor ever quite share
The kiss
That would cause me to live,

I'm blessed with the gifts you give.

You took me from nothing
And you've given me something
To look oh so forward to,

The gift of a life within you.
