Frosty Prayer



He said he was a believer
But he lied within his prayers
Just as the night can never be the day

The reflection in the mirror
Showed the lines upon his face
Stale coffee sitting from the other day

Sing a lullaby
Tie those words
And make sure there secure
Sing your words from a coffee cup
Don’t let them get cold so drink them up
And they will get to heaven I am sure


His words rose up like vapor
And the breeze took them away
To the distance place of paradise lost

The winter seeking birds took flight
And brought them back again
And he watched his prayers as they turned into frost
