This thread made me think that I wonder if radio is dying out.I cannot even remeber the last time I listened to the radio,even in the car it is cds.

There is a radio station out of Hamilton Ont. 900 on the am dial that does 'old time radio'
I can pick it up from time to time.

I hardly ever listen to cd in the car, I enjoy listening to the chitchat in between the songs.

Maybe it just me then. I just never seem to listen to radio any more.

Not so much for music, but I listen to NPR, talk radio.

I can tell you a real funny , pathetic on my part but true story.
When I traded in my old 91 impala which had no bells and whistles on it whatsover you know no warning lights or anything for a new car that did have all these gadgets well 2 days after I brought home It noticed something flashing that said K Lite .I panicked and look through the manual for what a K Lite was ,I called the deal and asked he didn't know either ,looked it up on the computer found nothing. Then we realized it was the name of a radio station K.lite FM, The sound was turned off. We both felt like the biggest idiots in town
And whats even worse I have the nerve to share this story.

Ha, ha, Betty. When my wife who is deceased now came to visit me years ago she asked me about why I was listening to the television without sound. I said that it quit working months ago and I just got used to watching it without sound. I thought it was interesting because I would just make up the dialog that I was watching on the television. When I came home one day the sound was working. I asked what she did to it. She said that she was playing with the knobs and buttons and it just starting working. It reminded me of an old Wedding Album by Cheech and Chong where one of the two asked the other what was wrong with the television because it had a black picture. He said that I don't know and its been like that all day. The other one went up to the television and you could hear this clicking sound. The other one asked him what he had done to get such a wonderful picture. He said, "I turned it on."

Funny story!Sounds like something I would do.

Lol. In the words of Jimi Hendrix, "Are you experienced or have you been experienced?" One of the reasons the older generation has experience because we have tried some things that just didn't work. Sometimes it is good to know things that don't work as knowing stuff that does work. Some those old tube type radios had great sound but the downside was that they used more watts to work.

I am always picking up the remote and touching a button that screws up the tv and then don't know how to fix it... I am electronics illiterate big time...

I just did something like that a few months ago with the setting for the satellite dish remote. It was like uh oh. Now I have done it. I finally got it to working again by somehow randomly pushing all the buttons. One of my professors while I was taking computer repair told me the best hardware on a computer was the on/off button when trying to figure out what was wrong with it. The idea was to give the mind a break and then come back to it later.
