After 3 hours of scrubbing every surface in my apartment I shall be able to sleep here tonight. I still have to do all my laundry tomorrow. 
A house I was renting several years ago (while my boys were still younger & living with me) had a short in the A/C wiring that started showing through my older sons ceiling about the time we were heading to bed (kinda late at night...it was summer). The breaker had popped around 4:00. I ended up getting the boys out of the house, getting the garage door opened (electric) and backed the car out while I called 911. I had 3 units there inside of 10 minutes & they had ceiling & wall torn out of my sons room. The header over the window was where it had been smoldering...and that wall had the gas line running through it. I called the ex & told him what happened & asked if he'd come get the boys for the weekend early because I didn't want them staying there. I ended up in a hotel until the house aired out. So three hours is good. |

My walls facing the hallway are blackened at the bottom and the manager said most walls will be torn down over the next year starting with the apartment across from me which is directly above where the fire was. Her place is not really livable but she is staying there. I went in her place and it hurt to breathe.
