This here is another holy book. Read them all and perhaps learn
something about spirituality vs religion.

As the Bible.
As the Koran.

This book survived the test of time.

Just a little. This guy from rehab I was going to at the time told me if
went to the Moonie convention that I could get a wife because the women
wanted a husband so they could become U.S. citizens. I read a little and
remember John Harrison from the Beatles sing a song called, "My Sweet
Lord". I chickened out because I didn't want to shave my head and hang
around the airport giving out flowers.

You could google it.

Or check the wikki - enclopedia.

Or just go to a book store and buy it.

Most book stores carry all the ancient texts (in their translated and
reprinted form).

Just if you decide to quote it I made a thread just for that book.

In case you don't know it is the book reputed to have come from the
words of mohamad.

The amazing thing about the Bhagavad-gita is that it has some eerie
overlaps, in strange detail, with both the written, and oral, traditions
of the Old Testament (in Hebrew form).

In Sanskrit the letters themselves have mystical meaning and form. Same
in Hebrew, and many divinations of meaning appear in both texts. Both
share the concept of re-incarnation as a progressive movement to unity
with the singular deity.

I cant recall at the moment, but there are even several overlapping
words that have the same cultural context and meaning.

Perhaps most surprising fact is: The worlds oldest standing synagogue
[outside Israel] is in Goa, India.

I've tried to read parts of the Sanskrit scriptures, but, they are very
opaque, and are deep with cultural meaning that I just dont comprehend.

Maybe someday, I'll hook up with a hindi-honey who will enlighten me.

Interesting time line.

Khrishna came around 3000 BC which means he predated mosaic law by
roughly a 1000 years.

Perhaps his teachings had some influence upon moses.

Depends who you ask right?

Devout hindu's are quick to emphasize that the Sanskrit scriptures are
at least 10,000yrs old. Moderates are agreeable that the accepted age of
the text is approximately 3000bc, or 5000yrs old.

The current Jewish year is 5764, celebrating 5700 years of Mosaic Law
(the clock started running at the first Passover). By this timeline, the
Sanskrit and Old Testament have nearly "simultaneous" ages.

There are alot of very interesting overlaps in the two religions, a
point often brought up by Rabbi Labbi Wolf in his lectures (he's an
influential Kabbalist Rabbi).

An interesting point mike.

The three wise men may have been sent upon the road to Bethelem because
of the teachings of Krishna.

He prophesied the comming of both Christ and Mohammad.
