Ok I have met a lady and I think there is a strong connection.
We work in the same building and have been talking a lot and now, I just
to be a man and ask for the date. It was so much easier 20
years ago.

So, encourage me, gives me some ideas of how to ask and where we could
go. I have had some bad experience over the last 2 years
so I deserve a break and a good experience.

iRon, one thing I have noticed about you during our interchanges is that
your communications skills are really good.

I would assume that this would probably hold up with how you talk to
people as well. It's not exactly the same thing, but the ability to use
language skills overlaps both written and verbal communication.

How to ask? I would bring it up casually, not like you were pressuring
or anxious in any way, but more as something of a suggestion that you
believe might be mutually enjoyable. If there's really a strong
connection there, then there should be no reason for her to turn down
the opportunity to spend some time with you and get to know you better.

Where to go? Well, find out what she likes to do. I figure the place
is less important that enjoying the company. I think you'll do well in
just about any environment.

Alex, speaking as one who knows nothing about the shared history between
you and Ron, I would say that, based on my own personal experience,
sometimes you DO need to hear it more than once or twice.

Sometimes you can be facing a fear, a trepidation, that becomes
paralyzing. And sometimes you really need to work to talk yourself out
of that kind of paralysis; and sometimes some encouragement works
wonders.

I like both of you, and I'm not taking sides because I really don't
believe there are "sides" at all on this one -- and I have no frame of
reference or context for whatever happened before you joined JSH. I can
only speak from what I know.

Ron, you manage 100 people in your workplace?

I know of one woman you have dated...and am sure there have been others
in your life time...sheesh.
