Spring has arrived!!!

Yea!!!

Yea? Something is strange with spring this year. I have two trees outside my window. One is showing that special iridescent green that shouts to the world ‘I am new again’ as it greets the spring sun. The other appears as if frozen in fall. Seriously… It budded mid winter and is now shedding leaves of autumn. !???

I walked about. All through the woods here, I am seeing the same thing. Trees that are budding with trees shedding autumn leaves mixed among them. Has this happened in the past?

Not being a scientist, I have no understanding of the ramifications of this. Being a man with eyes I know there are ramifications.

Yes as man with eyes, I do understand it is something different in my world-as-it-is… and it is not a small difference… It is a micro-change in a macro-world and a macro-change to the micro-environment of the forest.

Such micro-changes are the signature of bigger things in my humble opinion. In a dynamic engine such as that of the earth bigger things are dangerous to microorganisms living within the planetary macro-environment. (like us!)

Something I noticed today...

I have a tree near my house that is confused as to which season it is in.

Most of the tree is budding like spring.

One branch is dropping leaves like autumn...

All in one tree.

Up is down...

...and down is up.

Don't know, man. I am not a pro in biology and botanics. Could be something simple and well known too.

how old are these leaves? Are they from last Summer? Must be right? Unless your tree was growing green leaves during December, which is highly unlikely. Also , what kind of tree is it?

Sometimes in late winter we get the 'thaw' around here, really warms up, then slam its freezing again.
Sometimes we get the late frost and it hurts the crops, primarily cherries and wine vineyards.

I am not too worried for around here.
