Clinton: U.S. Fueling Mexican Drug Wars

Insatiable demand? Well, then get out of the business of drug prohibition.

Get this, BBC interviewed a Mexican diplomat, when the announcer asked the diplomat "isn't it American weapons that are causing the problems with the drug cartels?" this diplomat responded with logic " No, it's the Americans prohibition that is causing the Cartels to have the power and money they do." That my friends was the end of the interview, conversation done.

Prohibition creates black markets, period.

Question, are you looking to have all drugs legal or just pot?

For me, I couldn't care less about any of it, only a select group of people would use these drugs in the first place and the drug war has done nothing to stop the availability to them.

So take them all, remove what causes the criminal blackmarket and violent escalation on both the law and the criminals sides, and slap a tax stamp on all that crap, the same kind of tax stamp thats on cigarettes and booze.

For me, Weed would at the very least be a good start, can you show me one case of marijuana overdose? Can you show me one case of a pothead committing violent crime because he or she was doobied?

They don't exist.

All the drug war has succeeded in doing is making alot of bad people very wealthy and powerful.

Well like you I could care less about pot, but it makes me furious what we have spent on the drug wars for years for what? We have accomplished nothing so I am in complete agreement on POT. But I do question things like Meth and Cocaine, would we not trade voilence and death in one place for violence and death in another only with legal meth and cocaine? Maybe I am missing something...

Personally I think the drug wars was a scam in the first place, I don't think the gov had any interest in stopping it and there was some benefit for allowing it, I just don't know what.
