I know I "needed" some major stress relief! Being w/friends, a few drinks, lively party atmosphere, dancing - just what I needed.

OOOHHH I got to do the Cupid Shuffle...too! bigsmile

Not sure how many days it will take to recover to get what that creepy guy said to me out of my head! noway

I will probably regret this but.....what'd he say, what'd he say?
When I was at Margaritas last I was avoiding eye contact with men because my sister and i were seated near the bar where, it seemed, men tended to gather and watch the women like vultures. I was hoping to avoid that akward moment where they asked "wanna dance" and I say "no thanks."

I will email you what he said. Not going to post it here.

Why don't you wanna dance? I danced w/the girls at my table, a few of the guys that asked and I even asked a guy to dance! OH..and then Walter. Sometimes he just showed up and sometimes I felt sorry for him dancing by himself so I danced with him. I got a kick out of being taller than someone! bigsmile

I learned how to go and do a "scan"....LOL I wasn't very good at it. Unfortunately w/my height - I end up with all of the armpit smells as I walk through...YUK!... laugh

Would like to go back there again. It was fun!

I really wasn't that into the band/music the night I went to Margaritas with my sister. I forgot how silly we looked twenty years ago dancing like that. I was feeling a bit self conscious I guess. I would dance with a group of girls, no doubt, and I would dance with a guy if he didn't look at me like he wanted to eat me alive. I think I have been out of the loop too long. Maybe I will dance with the South American guy. Does he speak English? I know a little Spanish. hehe

Change your email settings so I can email you - or email me first and I can respond! I will give you the "juicy" hunk of burning love words that were spoken to me...

by a complete stranger!!!!

I must be doing something really wrong when I go out. You have men speaking "juicy words" to you and Tngxl65 has women ripping his shirt open. I sit in the same chair all night and watch people.

Just to be fair.... sitting in my chair all night is a normal night, lol. I've only had my shirt ripped off that one time... it was one of those fluky things

Well that's more action than I got, don't sell yourself short. I'm sure there were other men there they could have "jumped on" but they chose you. Keep that feather in your cap.

Believe me, I bring it up with my friends whenever I get the chance! I don't need to know the real reason!

You looking to dance? Or are you looking to just enjoy a drink and the ambience?

I haven't thought about it really but that is a good question. What if I want all three?

Most of the dance places are too loud to just sit and chat, unless they have a patio. I like going to Jerry's but it gets crowded and smokey and loud. Sometimes I go and sit on the patio.

The pump house usually has a small musical thing.... jazz or blues or whatever they have that night, but not a dance thing. Morts usually has a jazz band, but it's a cigar bar. It's a little thick unless the weather is good and you can sit outside.

I like heroes for a sporting event, and on the weekend if I can sit on the patio (seeing a pattern here?). I do like margaritas for dancing because it's not smokey.... but it is still loud.

Emerson's Biggins is more of a 'hang out' kind of place, but the one downtown always seems like a young crowd. Downtown they have a good patio. River City Brewery is great for a micro brew.

Too many choices!

Thanks, I really appreciate the advice. I think I will try Jerry's Friday night. Perhaps some fellow minglers would like to join? Need to be there around 9:00pm for a table?
Options are a good thing aren't they?

Bummer!

Looks like I am headed to Bourbon Street for a birthday. It's Kareoke night - not my favorite. Kareoke tends to depress me :-( I am wanting to get out and about where the music is jamming and the people are upbeat!

Anybody got anything going on tonight?

Ring phone. Ring! Save me from the Kareoke!!! UGGGHHHH!

I think I've watched maybe 3 times. And almost had enough to drink to try it once. Thankfully I didn't.... or at least there's no hard evidence that I did.....

I wouldn't be so sure. Taping capabilities on cell phones these days ... might show up on youtube, you never know! LOL

I don't sing in public. I sing when I am by myself and can act silly and goofy and nobody cares. But, my sisters, brother-in-law and stepmom were all blessed w/great voices and since it was my stepmom's bday - they picked Karaoke. J's boyfriend and her best friend also sing.

I enjoy listening to them sing - but - sometimes it is torture for me when they sing the slow woe is me love songs that tend to depress me these days. I don't need to leave the house to be reminded that love is bliss, love sucks and I am alone...LOL Give me the upbeat I am alive music that makes you want to dance and forget all of your troubles.

Thank God for Tetris on my cell phone! Oh and the hottie that sang 'When I Drink' by Blake Shelton. love blushing love
