Stay busy with lots of activities and make some new friends. I find that work of some sort is the best medicine for a broken heart.

In such a circumstance, the one with a broken heart needs to recognize that the relationship is over and to make a clear decision to stop pursuing this person as they are unable to love in return. To do this however, assistance is often needed. So, friends are of great support.

You grieve. Let yourself roll through the entire range of emotions. Get angry, get sad, go through denial, then hit acceptance. Getting over someone you love is like going through a death. It takes time for the pain to fade. But one day you laugh again, one day you smile again and then one day you see someone you find attractive and your heart speeds up again.
The key to it is to not get stuck in one emotion, holding onto it and holding yourself back.
Also, don't make the classic rebound mistake and hook up right away with someone else. I think in this day and age we tend to want to rush through breakups instead of allowing ourselves the time and space to feel what we need to feel when a relationship ends. That sort of thing never ends well, you end up hurting the new person and that just sucks.

why do you think you have to? it's okay to love someone who doesn't love you back. put a little love in your heart...and the world...will be a better place. flowerforyou
