Just thought of something else...dashing home from school to turn on American Bandstand to see Bob & Justine, Arlene Sullivan, Pat Moliterri, Carmen, and to hear the music I would spend my earned money on. **** Clark would interview some of the regulars to rate a new song and they would usually say, "It has a good beat. Good to dance to."

Wow, I am old because I remember all of it, and then puberty hit and the music of the late 60's and 70's was awesome with your huge bell bottom jeans your tied dyed shirt and a p-coat or leather fringed jacket with desert boots. I had the gogo boots and the paper dresses also. Then came disco and the clubs wow thoses were the good ol days. Now I sound just like my dad yiks...Thanks for the memories.
ps who was your favorite Monkee Davey or Micky? And the boys I brought home my dad almost had a heart attack lol even married one of them long beard, denim shirt, jeans, long hair the boots. I could go on and on.

when the Wizard of Oz(in black and white) was a really scary movie and then came drive-in theater and it was so very, very cool..
and what about the piece of mind we had when we sat and listened to the stories of the Great Depression and feeling like they had obviously made stupid decisions and somehow this would never happen to us...
When I first read the topic ,I was like all of us , kicked back and reminiscing and now I just feel old..Facing Reality is cruel. The pure and innocent times are gone and as much as you meant well with your post ...it ends up to be a sad day when we are reminded of it...Just my opinion and I hope I do not get attacked for it...
on another note, do you men remember having your Dad show you the proper handshake.....look the other man dead in the eyes and your word was your bond. And never shake a ladies hand till she offered hers first..
for the women do you remember the the proper way to curtsy ?

Just a matter of how you raise your kids. I have 5 and 4 are boys. They do indeed know how to shake a hand and they open doors for ladies and pull out their chairs. And yes, my grandsons and granddaughters are also raised the same. PS....Yes, we girls do know how to curtsy....ahhh too bad all aren't raised that way!

Those were great days. I too, remember it all. We were so innocent and naive. The poor kids today can't do anything on their own. There always has to be an adult to watch out for them. I remember leaving the house in the morning and not showing up back home til lunch. Then we would all go out again and play until the street lights came on. Then we had to report back home. The only time we watched TV was Saturday morning cartoons and Sunday night Bonanza! I loved Little Joe!!
