never ever use paper towels or tissue to clean your glasses. They are all made of wood pulp and on a microscopic level you may as well be using sand paper
use the specially designed lens cloth. they are made of a soft cotton and synthetic blend and wont scratch your lenses |

most glasses have an anti reflective coating that is only a couple of microns thick. tissues and paper towls and toilet paper are abrasive enough to take that coating off
if I were to tell the ruth on the occupation thread (I wont just cause thats the way I roll) I would say that I am a laser systems and high energy optics technician. I know this stuff also try to never touch the lens with your fingers. The oil on your fingers will actually etch in to the lens |

Actually, you can fix a cd with a toothbrush and toothpaste. But theres a trick to it, and none of my friends that know how will show me 'cause they're all jerks. |

I get the glasses wet and then rub soap and rinse and dry with old t-shirt cloths. I thought I was doing good because they were smooth. |
