http://www.house.gov/apps/list/press/tx14_paul/audit.shtml Audit the Fed Bill Reaches Crucial Benchmark Washington, D.C. - Congressman Ron Paul's Federal Reserve Transparency Act, HR 1207, has reached and surpassed the level of 218 cosponsors in the House of Representatives, which means it is now cosponsored by a majority of the members. The 218th cosponsor was Dennis Kucinich (OH-10), and the bill has since received its 222nd cosponsor. “The tremendous grass-roots and bipartisan support in Congress for HR 1207 is an indicator of how mainstream America is fed up with Fed secrecy,” said Congressman Paul. “I look forward to this issue receiving greater public exposure.” Hearings on Federal Reserve transparency are expected within the next month, as part of the Financial Services Committee's series of hearings on regulatory reform. |

The one thing that blows me away with government spending is how they will associate dissimilar programs and reapportion funding as they see fit even if it is not constitutional.
What is worst is the blatant disregard for properly maintaining spending. The states need to also be subjected to audits! Look at the deep seated corruption of the south. Louisiana is a prime example of this. They were given something to the tune of 200 million to repair the levees around New Orleans. Instead they built a sports stadium and Hurricane Katrina damaged it heavily and flooded New Orleans. Then FEMA to the rescue and the locals bled it dry so that residents of the soon after Ohio flooding there was no funds available to help them. This is a prime example of how funds are misappropriated by politicians and these practices need to be punished. On top of that their answer to their financial downfall is to raise taxes and tax everything. America was founded on the principles that were unrepresented and taxed unfairly. Now we are misrepresented and over taxed. Like I said before, our government is run by chimps and circus clowns. Time to give PT Barnum the boot. |

That was a little off target of the original post Andy, but a great new topic for another of course. It could be posted again and again, with many views, and never be enough. ![]() But on this topic, I am 100% for HR1207 and Ron Paul. He is a politician, yes, and I have a hard time trusting any of them, but he is a worker and raises a lot of questions on issues rather than just casting a lobbied vote as many do. We need transparency in the FED! It is our money, but they loan it to their member banks, to loan back to us for a profit in the form of intrest.... we pay them to us our own money! The worst part is, Congress has no right to ask who they are loaning it to and why! HR1207 will give Congress that right. Whether Congress has the nads to question them, or the desire to, is another story, but they can always be fired if they fail to do their jobs, unlike the FED. I want to see it pass. I want an accounting of our nations wealth, to know where it is or if it has been pilaged by the FED. After all, the FED is a private banking cartel in control of our money, and the word "cartel" does not inspire trust in my eyes. Good post willing! ![]() |
