Is fit for life a good diet to follow? Have you lost any weight on it?

It is simply a plan that "retrains" you and your body on how to eat properly for YOUR body and activity level... If you work hard at anything you will overcome and do well..

Absolutely & beyond a shadow of a doubt it is beneficial both mentally & physically. My driving force is undoubtedly in-line hockey & the stark truth of the matter is that I certainly would not be able to do so anymore at my current age if I were not fit.Godspeed!Cy:smile: flowerforyou

I think most diets are money makers for their inventors. Weight loss isn't rocket science, expend more calories than you take in. Of course doing it healthy is better.

Whole grains, fruits, veggies, lean meats, smaller portions, drink more water, don't eat stuff with trans fats and stay away from high fructose corn syrup. Eat more for breakfast and less for dinner. Eat less carbs especially processed carbs and more lean protein. Eat more natural stuff and less packaged stuff. And work out using weights or other resistance exercise.

Cardio like running is for cardio pulmonary health, not efficient for weight loss. Lifting increases muscle which raises basal metabolic rate for a longer period of time.

I lost a pound yesterday worrying about what other people think of me . . . NOT!!! Then I had a piece of cake that a wonderful girl brought to our house this weekend and I made myself laugh posting off-color jokes.

I am very fit in spirit . . . but it's the fat farm for my keester. sad

Now who wants a piece of cake?

<<< Beef cake . . . or meat loaf?

Got to post to this thread, because I believe you don't have to spend a lot of money on what everyone knows to be true when it comes to losing weight and getting healthy. I drove a truck over the road for a few years and got over 200 pounds. Poor eating habits and seditary lifestyle finally got to me. So I bought a bicycle. I rode everyday I could till I was riding 20 miles a week. Never changed my eating habits and got back down to 165. Point is-- there is no diet that will work as good as exercise. You have to move to burn calories, then you can eat whatever you want. Just my 2 cents worth.

Read Covert Bailey's "Fit or Fat"

Best reading anywhere on how and why the body metabolizes what you eat and why it gets turned into fat, or not.

He has a Masters Degree in Biochemistry from MIT.

If you check out the thrift/second hand stores you can find it for a buck.
