Several members of my family received emails today that seems to look official from the IRS. The emails states that there is a stimulas check being prepared for the working person. It also asked you to click on a link to input your bank information so that the checks can be processed faster.

I took the time to contact the IRS and I have been informed after being transfered between 6 different people and 4 hours of my time, that this is SPAM.

Though the email has the official logo on it, the IRS does not do any dealings through email.

PLEASE BE AWARE........THIS IS A SCAM

did you really? you didn't find it strange that they were notifying you by email instead of the normal mass mailing that they normally do?

Well though I work, I wouldn't call the IRS for that. I would automatically assume they wouldn't email me about this, they would send and official notice in the US mail and it would be all over the news I am sure.

 The Internet has made it easier than ever to scam people. While I know it is against the law,I don't feel sorry for people who fall victim to a scam and I'll tell you why. Most people fall victim to scams because of their own stupidity and/or greed. I don't feel sorry for them. I have never fallen victim to a scam via The Internet or in the good old days. be seeing you
